EV runs out of juice, pushed by coal miners
DC tourist ran out of battery in the middle of a remote West Virginia road on Friday, near a coal mine on Mettiki Coal access road U.S. 48, a few miles outside of Davis, according to WTRF.
From FaceBook:
Randy Smith on Friday Some days are just better than others. Today at our mine off Corridor H an electric car from DC ran out of battery at the road entrance to the mine. Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road. He went to investigate and found out they had indeed ran out of juice coming from DC to Davis for a get away weekend. He then went back to the mine and got guys to push the car to the guard shack so they could plug in to charge. ... See more

Good morning Wordle fans!
The A/C is doing a thing where it cycles properly until the afternoon sun hits the unit and then it doesn’t shut off but it also doesn’t cool the place, so the afternoons are beastly in here. (Southwest corner of a four-apartment building.)

Good morning! I’m not particularly handy, but maybe you just need your A/C filter replaced? Or it could be condensation freezing up which is an easy fix by someone who knows what they’re doing.
I managed another three! 😀

Good for you!
Hey, N-t-i! How are things in your neck of the woods?
No, I just replaced the filter not two weeks ago. This is the second or third time it’s gone on the fritz since I’ve been here (a year October 30th) and I’m just not a happy person. I buy the Filtrete tight-baffle filters because of the smokers here (they aren’t supposed to smoke in the apartments, but they also don’t realize that when they sit next to someone’s A/C unit, that person will get the smoke.)
I keep the thermostat set at 78° because my body temp is so low, but yesterday, the A/C ran all afternoon and the temp in here was 85°.
I had to keep getting up every few hours last night to let the unit cycle until the place cooled off, then I shut it off again. I’m exhausted.
Good Morning!
Nice going on the 3 spot!
‘Face, can you call the maintenance people to look at the AC? Do they handle them?

Funny you should suggest maintenance workers. We have none. And right now, it looks as if the manager has gone AWOL as well.
Looks like I’ll have to call the owner.
Meanwhile, since the sun is blazingly brilliant today, and the apartment is at 78° while the A/C is running constantly. It will do this until this evening and the temp inside will raise accordingly.
Did you see the sanddragon entry?
Okay in this neck …. Prayers all is well in your woods too
On toolbar for dinnertime—thank you!
G'daft ernoon, y'all--wishing you a blessed weekend!
I took photos of em all
Very well done.
