EV runs out of juice, pushed by coal miners

DC tourist ran out of battery in the middle of a remote West Virginia road on Friday, near a coal mine on Mettiki Coal access road U.S. 48, a few miles outside of Davis, according to WTRF.

From FaceBook:

Randy Smith on Friday Some days are just better than others. Today at our mine off Corridor H an electric car from DC ran out of battery at the road entrance to the mine. Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road. He went to investigate and found out they had indeed ran out of juice coming from DC to Davis for a get away weekend. He then went back to the mine and got guys to push the car to the guard shack so they could plug in to charge. ... See more

OK, if you wander over to that link there are only 16 posts, but the link to the Three Little Pigs is worth a listen.

If you could win ‘em all, nobody would play. People are kind of dumb that way.

Yep - I guess I’m a dumbass. 😁

Haven’t been Wordle-ing for a couple weeks, but thought I’d swing low and give a wave.

I finally caved and subscribed to The Epoch Times — I haven’t held a REAL newspaper in YEARS. This one’s GOOD.

AND there’s online articles, AND they have a daily crossword — a weakness of mine.

Looking forward to some rain Sunday, but first a day digging post holes for a fence I’m replacing at my rental house. SSOOO glad it’s only going to be in the higher 70’s.

I love that first Streak of One! There is nothing like it to get you fired up!

Good job! I hope you have a good Saturday!

Good morning!

Zzeeman, this is uncanny. I wonder if we have similar start words and second words? My second word kind of brought it home for me today.

I bombed it yesterday too and am also starting my new streak with a three.

Did you use the first-two-months-for-$1 offer? (Dan Bongino or somebody?) I’m fighting with myself over that. The print samples they mail out are collector’s editions—when the revisionists are rewriting history, those old editions will pop up and make their heads ‘splody.

That would be unlikely as I have gotten into this practice of using a completely different starter word almost every day.

And then the second word is based entirely on what the first word reveals.

Kinda like: making it up as I go along!

🤣

I missed the dollar a month deal, but it’s no matter; the online access includes digital EpochTV, which has some really great music performances archived. I watched Mahler’s 8th symphony at Lucerne... HUGE orchestra, probably 300 voices in the choir, pipe organ, and five soloists. Deeply stirring if you love good music.

Hey, ‘face! Wat snoo witchoo? I just listened to Dinesh D’Souza’s “United States of Socialism,” and it seems like all of these books seem to be compilations of things we’ve read in the news. Same thing with the Schweizer book and Ramaswami’s “Woke, Inc.” Got about halfway through “Meateaters Guide to Wilderness Skills and Survival,” and still can’t tell a frog from a toad.

Wow! The music sounds good, although I’ve been told I have dippy taste in classical (Liszt “Czardas Macabre”). I think that’ll be my birthday present rather than a couple of pounds of Lindor pistachio truffles (be still, my infarcted heart).

I remember my mother playing that on the “phonograph” (78 rpm) when I was a kid. Don’t know who the artist was, but that brought back a flash of memories! Thanks! (I think!)

I also think my A/C has frozen up. Or whatever it is they do these days when they just keep running.
