EV runs out of juice, pushed by coal miners
DC tourist ran out of battery in the middle of a remote West Virginia road on Friday, near a coal mine on Mettiki Coal access road U.S. 48, a few miles outside of Davis, according to WTRF.

Randy Smith on Friday Some days are just better than others. Today at our mine off Corridor H an electric car from DC ran out of battery at the road entrance to the mine. Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road. He went to investigate and found out they had indeed ran out of juice coming from DC to Davis for a get away weekend. Once I went back to bed, I was OK, but there was a three-hour gap where I played a zombie. I’m not sure how today will go, but I suspect it will be a very long day.

Young ArGee got her car yesterday. She said it was exhausting. Those dealerships really know how to drag out a sale. But she made it home. AND it turns out her other car isn’t totaled so we’ll be selling one.
It took 4 tries today.

Good news for the Young ArGee. And good luck to you when selling the car. Facebook Marketplace is a good place for that as it’s mostly locals who answer the ads. You may get some from out of state (or the other end of the country) but it’s usually a painless way to sell.
Good job on the Wordle, though that blank first row always puts a hugh lump in my throat. Even when its on someone else’s grid!
I’m not on Facebook. I’ll probably see if there’s someone local to where the accident occurred willing to consign the car for sale. Chances are good the body shop can recommend someone.
The blank first row just means I use my go-to second word. It includes the remaining vowels and some other common letters. When that turned up only one golden letter at the end, THAT was when I had my “now what?” moment.

Notably: the British regard our “Rain” as “Showers” and our “Showers” as unworthy of dedicated terminology. IOW, our media types who write the forecasts exaggerate shamefully.
Dreary and wet today. No wind after last night’s bluster, which blew itself out around midnight. For all the media you’d have thought we were expecting a hurricane. One of my patio chairs was tipped over.

I’m glad you’re not experiencing any wild weather. I miss that area of CA, but I don’t think I’ll ever see the state again except in pictures. I’m thinking more of the northern part than cluttered LA....

Good morning. I hope you slept better than I did.
I got a text from PW just as I was falling asleep saying that FS and his friend were on their way to Maryland to pick up a VW that isn’t quite as much work as the one he was trying to rebuild. He sold that one just before Christmas to make room for this one.
He’ll just get home and have to get on a plane to head west for a week with PW. Her son, Sam, is going to meet them in AZ, someplace.
I managed to get some of the one-piece Nativities put away yesterday, but have the multi-piece sets to wrap and stow, now. Maybe I’ll get it done today. After I write some letters.
