EV runs out of juice, pushed by coal miners
DC tourist ran out of battery in the middle of a remote West Virginia road on Friday, near a coal mine on Mettiki Coal access road U.S. 48, a few miles outside of Davis, according to WTRF.

Randy Smith on Friday Some days are just better than others. Today at our mine off Corridor H an electric car from DC ran out of battery at the road entrance to the mine. Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road. He went to investigate and found out they had indeed ran out of juice coming from DC to Davis for a get away weekend. When I checked it, there were two possible choices. I picked the wrong one two days in a row.
I went to Walmart, where it was very busy and people drive like fools. The weather has cleared up here.
I’m just waiting for the afternoon to produce the T-storms that will go on until the wee small hours.
FD is frightened terribly for me, but there’s nothing I can do to comfort her. I told her I had made the decision to move here, so until such time as I can leave, I need to deal with it.
One of my nieces in Central Utah wants me to email her, and I have a letter to write, and all I want to do is go to sleep.
The laundry is hanging to dry but I had to do it in stages, this time. Not happy about that, either. The best laid plans....
I need to take some pills and have a lunch and see if I can tune into some local weather.
Almost everyone gets through the weather almost all the time.
I’m thinking about a nap. I’ll have to check with Jake!
Well, it looks as though the tornado warning is just severe thunderstorms, now, so I’ll tell my FD to ease her mind about her FM!
A nap sounds wonderful! I can hardly wait to go take mine and try to sleep through the worst of the weather.

Yes, it is an improvement! If I have to be swept off somewhere, I’d rather it was in the vicinity of Angel’s Landing!!
It’s dark and the sound and light show has started, so I have no idea if I’ll have power or not the rest of the day. So I charged up my emergency radio and am charging the neck light; the candles are handy and so is the lighter. The hard part of all of this is if the power does go out, it will be hard to sleep. The heated mattress helps the pain, so when the power goes out, I’m in for a long night.
FS’s paternal grandad hated T-storms and every time there was a tornado forecast and the rains began (SD) he would toss everyone into the car and drive around until the storm has passed. I’d like to do that, but....
The wind evidently shifted radically and the storms have been missing us. We may have T-storms around midnight but for now, it’s just rain.

I never thought I’d be so excited when the weather didn’t turn out as forecast!
I won’t be here long. I’m just having a little trouble breathing, what with the warm temp outside, and my wet laundry inside, the furnace hasn’t kicked on. Every breath is like trying to drink something.
I would have awakened anyway, because of the light and sound show now going on.
It didn’t do much today but it’s certainly going to do a lot tonight!

Well, I think it’s just been busy in Buffalo. And the company isn’t all that big. By the time we went by the snow was mostly off of everything. Hopefully we’ll get an estimate soon.
Meanwhile, young ArGee decided she needed a new car anyway so I helped her pick one out. If she ever gets this one road ready we’ll help her sell it.
I don’t know about any price gouging laws, but if there are laws that limit effective competition then NYS has them.

I’ve been to Ohio and back. I helped young ArGee pick out a newer car which she hopes to be able to pick up tomorrow. Using on-line banks it an be a little tricky to get cash to a car dealership. Anyway, after that it’s just waiting for her older car to be either totaled or repaired.
When we stopped by the impound lot to get stuff out of her car we met another woman who had been hit right in her driver’s side door. That woman was dealing with injury so we were indeed blessed.
Anyway, on to 2023. Here’s how Wordle starts for me.

Good morning. I hope you had a good night.
I had some disturbing dreams, but thankfully, I can’t remember any of them.
Today, of course, I’ll be taking down the laundry and putting it away. Most of it’s on hangers, so I just need to move them to the closet. There are foldy things, but they won’t take long to put away. It will keep my mind of other thing.
I have to make sure I make an entry into the CFIDS log today, too. I forgot to do it yesterday — Mondays are always a blitz for me. It’s like my brain is totally fried.
Any start to a new year is a good start for me!
I’m glad to hear Ms ArGee has reliable transportation and that you were able to see her safely home.
Car accident injuries are no fun to deal with. Especially when one thinks of how the accident could have turned out. I’m grateful your family is OK.
Speaking of family, how is Princess? Has she had any more seizures?

The Princess is doing OK. She gave Mrs. ArGee a bit of a scare while I was away, but she just ate something that bothered her tummy. Now that this is no longer an indicator of an upcoming seizure we have to always be wary.
