EV runs out of juice, pushed by coal miners
DC tourist ran out of battery in the middle of a remote West Virginia road on Friday, near a coal mine on Mettiki Coal access road U.S. 48, a few miles outside of Davis, according to WTRF.
From FaceBook:
Randy Smith on Friday Some days are just better than others. Today at our mine off Corridor H an electric car from DC ran out of battery at the road entrance to the mine. Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road. He went to investigate and found out they had indeed ran out of juice coming from DC to Davis for a get away weekend. He then went back to the mine and got guys to push the car to the guard shack so they could plug in to charge. ... See more

She’s a little upset this guy “stole” a bunch of her Christmas break and was able to drive his own car from the accident. But otherwise she’s good.
Yes, I can understand that feeling. And in a way, he did, but not intentionally. As the late Tiamat would say, “Some days, it just doesn’t pay to chew through the straps!”
I hope the insurance company doesn’t cancel your daughter’s insurance, after all that. Insult to injury.
Since it’s been coming and going for 20 years, I won’t be surprised by future episodes. I can always go back to PT, too.
Good morning. Happy Friday Eve!
Kitteh says, “It’s. Not. Funny.
We have a cold start to the day but it’s supposed to get up to 40.
I will be driving my daughter home tomorrow, so I may or may not be in. Still waiting to hear about the estimate on her car.
No Wordle score yet. Maybe it will come to me soon.
Kitteh doesn’t look happy to be out in the snow!
Good morning. Did you sleep well last night?
I thought I was going to but no. I had to get up and THINK. Unngh. Nothing like trying to solve the problems of tomorrow in the middle of the night.
FD just showed me a pic of her new kitty Duncan. Actually, it’s just Duncan’s footprints going out into belly-deep snow about eight feet and then turning around to scamper back! Funny stuff!
I’m not thinking kitteh’s think snow is funny.
I finally got the Wordle after a bit of a struggle.

Ooohhh.... That Wordle looks rather frustrating. I need to quit daydreaming and get started on my own.
Happy Thursday, Wordle Epople!
I hope all y’all are beginning to thaw out after the deep freeze we’ve all been in.
Here’s today’s effort. Not an easy word to figure out.

:whispers: My body wants to go back to bed.
Good morning. I was warm last night, except when I had to get up. I think I’ll go to the library and the bank today. We don’t have snow!
Good Morning!
Nice job, ‘Face, on the 4 spot!

We are supposed to get some rain late in the day... at least it is warm!
I was warm until the night sweats got the better of me. Then I was very aware of the alarm.
These days, I’m extremely tired when I get up, so that’s not good.
And I’m very glad you don’t have snow!!
29Β°, arf a ninch of white stuff on things.

We have some white stuff that still hasn’t melted. (We’re talking about snow, not blow, right?) But nothing new is falling.

It seems to be the norm across the “northern tier of states.” FD said she could hear the snow on the undercarriage as she drove slowly and carefully in to work. I have no idea how far that is.
It’s sunny here, and I’ve been told it’s not as cold outside as I feel like it is. I’m going to drink a cup of tea and then go to the bank, the library, and Walmart.
13 of the 14 days in the 10 day forecast have precipitation. Rain on only 2, snow the rest.
