EV runs out of juice, pushed by coal miners
DC tourist ran out of battery in the middle of a remote West Virginia road on Friday, near a coal mine on Mettiki Coal access road U.S. 48, a few miles outside of Davis, according to WTRF.
From FaceBook:
Randy Smith on Friday Some days are just better than others. Today at our mine off Corridor H an electric car from DC ran out of battery at the road entrance to the mine. Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road. He went to investigate and found out they had indeed ran out of juice coming from DC to Davis for a get away weekend. He then went back to the mine and got guys to push the car to the guard shack so they could plug in to charge. ... See more

We were already expecting Patrick to stay over tonight, since he’ll be getting off work at 11:00 at the Walmart just up the street. Duke Power may have the slum’s electricity back on by the time Sally gets herself organized.
According to the NWS this is the coldest Arkansas has been since the winter of 1989. That was a few years before FS got here and even longer before PW got here.
All I know is that it’s warmer in Hurricane!
All is clam here, too, until this evening when I have to go to the Other Folks because Sam will be with his dad tomorrow. Unngh.
Church is at 1000 tomorrow instead of 1130, so I won’t be able to lollygag for any length of time. Then next week, we go at 0900. That’s going to be difficult for me to start with. But maybe I’ll watch from home. I’m beginning to feel the tiredness creep up on me.
In Hurricane, I went three Sundays of the month because I could come home after Sacrament Service. I make it one or two Sundays a month, here, and watch it the other Sundays. It’s just not the same.
I need to go get dressed. Longjohns are the uniform of the day again, but I only have three pairs of them. I need more but can’t afford them just yet.
I was having some really strange dreams but they were oddly pleasant. All I know for sure is that I didn’t want to wake up!
Happy Christmas Eve’s Day, Wordlers!
I hope this finds you well in spite of the weather, and that all your shopping is done and that your guests have arrived safely.
Today’s game took me to “Great!” but it’s better than “Phew!”

I was dreaming about music pages. We’ll run through our songs again today, but we kept it simple because of how busy everyone is.
When I was working I used to dream about events and strangers in an office setting. It was weird. Of all the dreams I could have had, those were the worst!
I can’t imagine that dreaming about music pages for you would be any more pleasant that dreaming about office settings for me.
Good Christmas Eve Morning!
Hoping that all are safe and warm, and that power comes back quickly for anyone out...
We had a less stressful overnight as it only got down to around 19 degrees instead of 9... all the livestock survived the extreme cold the night before, so it was almost balmy for them last night...

I’m cutting, I’m taping, I’m saying, “Wait a minute - these aren’t the right words.” It’s mildly stressful. I had my hood on and Jake getting close.
Happy Hanukkah and Merry Christmas to each and everyone.
Amen... Peace on Earth and Good Will Toward Men
The electricity is back on at the slum apartment. Sally was texting me pictures of the cold pets, but I wasn’t sympathetic, since I’d said they could all come here.
Amen to that! <3
Thank you, Chode!
Merry Christmas and a Blessed Yule to you all.
Merry Christmas!!
Thank you Lord for loving us so much that you sent your Son as our Savior!!
Hoping that everyone will be enjoying Christmas in whatever ways are most meaningful and enjoyable for you!!

Good job! I’ll try my hand at it in just a bit!
Happy Christmas Day!
I’ll take it twice!
Good morning! Did you have a pleasant Christmas Eve? I hope you had a good night with no cats.
I’m exhausted. It’s another of those “If I have to argue with myself about going, I should probably stay home.” I’m pretty sure I was becoming dehydrated yesterday. I’ve been trying to restore the fluids, but crikey, it’s hard!
Maybe a little extra salt to help you rehydrate?
Good morning. We had a nice evening. Finished decorating the tree, watched the first half of “Patton,” and went to bed around 9:30. No sign of Youth this morning, but we don’t have to leave for church until noon, so there’s no rush.
