EV runs out of juice, pushed by coal miners

DC tourist ran out of battery in the middle of a remote West Virginia road on Friday, near a coal mine on Mettiki Coal access road U.S. 48, a few miles outside of Davis, according to WTRF.

From FaceBook:

Randy Smith on Friday Some days are just better than others. Today at our mine off Corridor H an electric car from DC ran out of battery at the road entrance to the mine. Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road. He went to investigate and found out they had indeed ran out of juice coming from DC to Davis for a get away weekend. He then went back to the mine and got guys to push the car to the guard shack so they could plug in to charge. ... See more

Good morning. Who says you have to put them away? It’s not like Jesus was an adult over night! Leave them up for 40 days.

I have some of them on the floor, most of them are on the bookshelves, in front of the books, so I have to move them if I need to get or replace a book, one is on the desk, and one is on the table. When I put them away, I will seal them for the move. (I have my packing log waiting...)

We don’t have any decorations except the wreath on the door. Vlad was talking about getting the tree out, but then he went back to bed.

I have music planned for Sunday, so that’s my task for the day.

The Nativities and the Welcome sign are as decorated as I’ll be. Everything else is just too much work.

And I need to rest my back because in a few weeks, I’ll begin thinning out the items for the move.

Vlad is still in bed. I think Jake is with him.

After last night’s bout with insomnia, I’m overtired and my body doesn’t want to give in just yet. I tried, though!

So I’ll listen to a couple of uplifting talks and then try again. A migraine is trying to hit me again and I really don’t want it.

I wouldn’t want a migraine, either! I hope the talks help.

I don’t think I ever really got over the last migraine. It seems like about every other day, I feel that dull little pull on the right side of my neck that tells me the pain wants to climb up and rip my eye out.

I’ll listen to two or three short talks and see what happens.

Yes, it’s trying to eat my right eye out. Miserable thing, a migraine.

One more talk, and then I’m going to try again. I don’t have to get up for anything so it’s OK if I don’t set the alarm.

Good morning. Happy Friday Eve!

I hope no undeaders are in the path of this awful weather I’ve been reading about. We’re supposed to warm up into the 50s tomorrow and then the temps will drop like a rock for Saturday. The foreguesses are confusing about whether this will come with rain or snow or both or just what.

Another day, another Wordle. One of those days when I look at the letters left for a long time and say, “What words can I possibly make with THAT???!!!

Wordle 551 4/6

This “awful weather” is going to smack us, though probably not to the same degree as it will farther north. Snow mixed with rain today and a low tonight of 4°. We also have windchill warnings.

“They” keep trying to rename the weather, and I still call things Blizzards and Tornadoes and Ice Storms and Warming Trend, instead of the dramatic money-maker, “Climate Change!” The Earth is alive, and she has warming and cooling cycles, and there’s not a thing we can do to change it.

Is that yesterday’s floof in profile?

Good morning. Did you have a good night?

I finally fell asleep a little after 2200, and the migraine has slithered back to the back of my neck where it’s just nagging at me and waiting.

Today is pill sorting day, and maybe I’ll get the last two Nativities set up.

For now, I need to take my pills and eat something, then go get dressed.

Happy Thursday, Wordlers!

My showing today was “Great,” even though I didn’t think so!

Wordle 551 5/6

⬜🟨⬜⬜🟨

🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩

It’s not even symmetrical! How can it be “Great” if it isn’t symmetrical?

(If you want on or off the Wordle Ping list, please let me know! [Not to be confused with the Undead Thread Ping list! If you want on or off that list, you can also let me know.])

Different kitteh, and not bad, thanks. I slept in my Zion sweatshirt with the hood on to stay warm.

I’m glad you got to sleep.

I’m glad it’s useful! They may have a different style by the time I get back, so I’ll keep an eye out.

I’ve been so cold for so long that I can’t wear my rings any more as they slip off my fingers.

It looks a lot like snow weather, now. A perfect day to stay in and MMOB. FD says its -12° where she lives in CO! I told her she needed to get heated dip sticks for their vehicles.

I’ll need to sort pills soon, then let up the Lego Wannabe Nativity.
