EV runs out of juice, pushed by coal miners
DC tourist ran out of battery in the middle of a remote West Virginia road on Friday, near a coal mine on Mettiki Coal access road U.S. 48, a few miles outside of Davis, according to WTRF.
From FaceBook:
Randy Smith on Friday Some days are just better than others. Today at our mine off Corridor H an electric car from DC ran out of battery at the road entrance to the mine. Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road. He went to investigate and found out they had indeed ran out of juice coming from DC to Davis for a get away weekend. He then went back to the mine and got guys to push the car to the guard shack so they could plug in to charge. ... See more

It’s been cold since I moved here, mostly because I’ve had to keep the A/C on to cut the moisture in the air, and then there is winter.
I can put on enough layers to be warm, but I can’t take off enough to be cool. The neighbors would turn me in.
We went to Target, where I found some items for Sally for Christmas, and the power went out. It was a change of pace. It was back on in less than 10 minutes.
Mona took me to Kroger to get my prescription, and while I was there, I asked for different lids for the pill vials. Presto!
Then she stayed and we talked and now I’m horribly homesick.
All the Christmas cards are in the mail. One of the cards I got yesterday was from a couple in Henderson, and there was a short note in it about the aches and pains of the man of the house. OK, but I’m not related, so why me?
But folks do that, don’t they? I probably won’t see them again, so it’s ok.

Maybe it’s all they have to talk about!
Or maybe they felt it was something they could share without embarrassment, and here I am, blabbing to the world. Shame on me. Seriesly.
OK. I’m off to bed. Just about the time I could feel my eyelids trying to slam shut the doorbell rang. Pam, her hubby, their daughter and one of their small granddaughters sang “Jingle Bells” to me. Unngh!! But it was sweet, and they bore gifts — a jar of cookie mix and a big “Welcome” sign for my door.
I’ll send you a pic of it tomorrow when I know you’re awake! It’s about 18” across. HUGH!!
Did they tell you how many cookies they wanted you to make?
It all sounds very user/friendly to me.
It probably only makes about two dozen cookies, but that’s still way more than I can sensibly (or nonsensibly) eat in a week. Still, it looks fun, and I get the keep the jar! YAY!
Good morning. Happy Humph Day!
It’s hard to believe it’s only Wednesday. I keep waking up thinking it’s much later in the week.
Back to four for the midweek Wordle.

What a sweet little floof!
Good morning. I hope you had a good night.
Mine was weird, and I didn’t like it at all. Maybe I got five hours of sleep, so I have no clue what this day will be like.
I got kind of sad yesterday, when I sat down and looked the Nativities (two of which are still not assembled) and realized that in another 10 days, I’ll have to put them all away again. :o[
Happy Winter Solstice, Wordler Ganag!
I wasn’t sure I was going to pull this one out of the hat, as it seemed a little remote in the first word. But with that odd piece of luck that I sometimes have, I picked a word that seemed as good as any other and it was the right one.

Now I’m looking forward to gradually more daylight!
(If you want on or off the Wordle Ping list, please let me know!)
Good job!
How’s Princess Dog this morning? I hope she’s still improving, and that seizures are a thing of the past for her.
Orthodox Christmas Day is Jan 7. You could leave your Nativities up until then.
w0rdl3 w00t!
She seems fine. Mrs. ArGee thinks she might be too thin. She’s going to wait to get our daughter’s opinion when she arrives Friday (God and weather willing).
Good Morning!
This one was a bit different than yesterday (in which I had all Green or Black squares through to solving) as I had no Green squares until the solution...

I thought it was January 6, but I’m perfectly willing to leave them out an extra day!
One or two of my favorites will stay out all year as a (not so) subtle reminder. I even save the Christmas cards sent to me that have depictions of the Nativity and/or the Three Magi.
7th this year? Me too, I thought the 6th.
