EV runs out of juice, pushed by coal miners
DC tourist ran out of battery in the middle of a remote West Virginia road on Friday, near a coal mine on Mettiki Coal access road U.S. 48, a few miles outside of Davis, according to WTRF.
From FaceBook:
Randy Smith on Friday Some days are just better than others. Today at our mine off Corridor H an electric car from DC ran out of battery at the road entrance to the mine. Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road. He went to investigate and found out they had indeed ran out of juice coming from DC to Davis for a get away weekend. He then went back to the mine and got guys to push the car to the guard shack so they could plug in to charge. ... See more

I think the major rational is to be able to see if anyone is reaching for a weapon.
LOL!
I just think it’s clever, and I admire you even more for thinking of it!
Good point.
We ordered shower curtains from Walmart.com. They haven’t been in stock in the store for weeks. At least they still exist, unlike the Great Value dish soap!
I ordered a shower curtain liner from Walmart and I like the quality. I’ve been using the ones from Dollar Tree. This one came and I was so excited, as I’m trying to stop the water from going over the lip of the shower floor. It’s just not very deep, but I don’t want the shower curtain itself to be on the bathroom floor.
Well, gloriosky! The new shower curtain is a good 4” shorter than the one that’s on there! I thought of sending it back (too much of a hassle) and then decided to keep it for the tub I know awaits me in Utah. Unless I get moved into the one quad building. That may have shower stalls instead of tubs, as it was rebuilt after a fire from a smoker burned most of it.
I’ve decided I really don’t want to spend another Christmas here. It’s worse than National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation movie!
I’m just waiting for the time to pass when I hear from Chuck that I’ve moved one more notch up the list.
If the length isn’t right, we’ll move the rods up or down. It a use for young men with Height.
If I move the rod down, the shower curtain is on the floor. If I move it up, then the water will get onto the floor. The shower pan needs about 2” more to be deep enough to be practical. Even one inch would help!
You have a shower? The way you describe the area you live in I’d think you could just step outside.
Yeah, well, the neighbors may complain if I do that, so...

Most of the time, it can be pretty disagreeable...
Da floof found his spot!
Good morning. Did you have a good night?
FS came over for about 30 minutes yesterday, and we had a good visit, for the time we had.
The migraine is trying to come back, and I think it’s because of the get-together today. I don’t wanna do it! ARGH! Especially with Abbie being so cranky.
Abbie is such a sweet girl. She must be under a lot of pressure to be cranky!
Sally is phoning and texting about the scarmable of Anoreth’s wedding. At least they’ve got a license and a celebrant. Turns out DP will be taking pictures. I asked Sally if I was expected to wait tables - “if so, I’ll bring an apron” - but she said no.
Good Morning!
Saturday four train for me...

I didn’t even get any hints today. It was either a letter in the right place or it wasn’t in the word at all. go figger!
Good luck everyone!
I’m pretty sure it’s the gastric bypass that is making her so cranky. She never raises her voice or gives any other indication of something snarky coming out of her mouth, but you know you’ve been smacked. Poor James is bewildered and tries very hard to understand, and I have to give him credit for that. I’m sure he gets a lot more of it than anyone else.
Is Anoreth getting excited about her wedding, or is it “ho-hum?” Will it be a casual thing or semi-formal or full bore, all-out wedding? I, for one, am glad you’re not having to wait tables or do anything else besides be the bride’s mother. That’s an important job in itself! And the first time is special. I mean, you’ll be the mother of the bride or groom again, but this is your first-born. Enjoy it and let the photos be taken!
Good job on that! Nice pattern! ;o]
It is taking place in a bar and will be very casual. I think. Anoreth said it’s fine if I wear a skirt and blouse, so I will. Sally said Frank and Kathleen should come, because there will be one or more children from the groom’s family. I’m about to take Frank over to Walmart to look for non-sweatpants.
