EV runs out of juice, pushed by coal miners
DC tourist ran out of battery in the middle of a remote West Virginia road on Friday, near a coal mine on Mettiki Coal access road U.S. 48, a few miles outside of Davis, according to WTRF.
From FaceBook:
Randy Smith on Friday Some days are just better than others. Today at our mine off Corridor H an electric car from DC ran out of battery at the road entrance to the mine. Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road. He went to investigate and found out they had indeed ran out of juice coming from DC to Davis for a get away weekend. He then went back to the mine and got guys to push the car to the guard shack so they could plug in to charge. ... See more

I can see that life in South Dakota would have that result.
Patrick came by the get the Unacceptable Receptacle so Sally can take her cat to the vet. He has shaved and got a haircut and is looking less skinny. Rather handsome, in fact. Maybe he’s met someone he wants to impress, or maybe Sally mocked him for looking like a homeless alien.

Even pets get to look like their pets.
Looks like the gopher from Caddyshack...
Wow. I’d almost have to see Patrick to believe he doesn’t look like a homeless alien. I mean, he’s always been rather alienish, but maybe just being away from home and its challenges was enough. Or maybe he’s met someone he wants to impress. ;o]
I think the pet’s pet is rather charming!
Good morning. I hope you had a good night.
The storms and tornadoes missed us and went to the far southeastern corner of the state, so I’ll breathe easy until the next one is forecast.
Meanwhile, the temperature plunged (which may be why the tornadoes misses us) and is a chilly 28° with a high of 48° forecast for the day. I really do want to be warm!
FS stopped by for about 20 minutes yesterday, and he was full of memories. Most of them were from times around age three. I just let him talk. He needs to remember the good times.
Happy Hmpf Day, Ganag!
I thought for sure I was in for a long haul, and then I said, “Let me try this one.”

Some days I can make that work and some days I can’t.
Good morning. Happy Humph Day!
No major storms. Just more cold weather. We’re under a wind advisory for most of the day. We’ll see if the trash bins can remain upright. The lawn between us and the next building is still littered with recyclables from the last windy day. Not that the responsible party cares.
I did not have one of those “make it work” days. My fives are back to their normal lead over my threes.

If nothing else, a nice pattern.
Good job, though! At least it’s not an X/6!
My Fivers are ahead of my Triples by 12. The Foursies take the win with 88. SO far out in front!!
Indeed, a very nice pattern, and you still made it in before the dreaded X got you! Good work!
Good Morning!
Continuing the temperature roller coaster ride... almost 80 degrees yesterday, down to the mid 30s this morning... highs in the 50s next couple of days, then back to the 70s on Friday...
A four train seems to be the call for today...

Good morning. It was bucketing down rain this a.m. but has stopped for now. Mrs. Stone is going to call me back about going to the farm for a couple of hours. The weather might be nice enough for Kathleen to groom one of the horses.
The dead hairbros still aren’t up, although when I asked if Tom still had his organs, I heard his voice wondering why I asked.
That’s a result chart I haven’t seen before.
Sally reports that her cat has tooth decay and has lost weight, which is not of itself bad, since it was quite a large cat. I have been sympathetic without, I hope, giving any impression that the parental household is going to pay for any of this. We paid for vaccines last year at our vet.
It seems slowly growing patterns should be more common, doesn’t it? But they aren’t.
I was supposed to go to Walmart with Pam this morning, after she’d had her hair done (”1100-1130-ish”) and a few minutes after 1100, I stepped outside to wait for her, bundled against the north wind, and just as I locked the door, I got a text.
I could only read part of it, something about “running late” so I unlocked the door and came back in. She said it would be over an hour before she would be done, and would I like to go Friday, instead?
I told her Friday was better for me and it is, at this point. Today, UPS is supposed to bring my supplements around noonish.
What in the world will Younger Hairbro do when Older Hairbro is finally gainfully employed? Maybe he’ll be bored with sleeping in.
Oh, golly. Sympathetic to the situation AND the loan of the Unacceptable Receptacle may be read by Sally as, “go ahead, we’ll foot the bill.” I don’t think she’s learned how NOT to take advantage of her parental units.
I think I’ll make some bread today, even though it’s a little cool in here. I want to bake it in the oven but I’m afraid of the power bill.
Good job!
We have a north wind today, and the temp is still around 30-something. If you can find a sheltered spot in the sun, the day isn’t too bad.
Great goin’! Fives beat the X’s!
It seems to be winter all across the country. FD is bragging about 5° in her neck of the Rockies. *shiver* (I’d need more snivel shirts to live there!)
How’s Princess Dog doing?
Princess Dog was having some serious excitement when the maintenance guy came to fix the toilet (for the 3rd time in as many months). But she’s cappy as a hamper now.
