EV runs out of juice, pushed by coal miners

DC tourist ran out of battery in the middle of a remote West Virginia road on Friday, near a coal mine on Mettiki Coal access road U.S. 48, a few miles outside of Davis, according to WTRF.

Randy Smith on Friday Some days are just better than others. Today at our mine off Corridor H an electric car from DC ran out of battery at the road entrance to the mine. Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road. He went to investigate and found out they had indeed ran out of juice coming from DC to Davis for a get away weekend. Not too bad, thanks. Second day in a row that I slept until 7. It’s as if I was tired.

Music went pretty well today. We had a success with a challenging song, which always builds one’s confidence.

Yes, indeed it does! Congratulation!

I never thought music/singing was hard, but we had one chorister (maestro, he was) who actually had us sweating before our performance was worthy of his leadership.

Sometimes a melody is counter-intuitive and I have to listen to it over and over to get it in my head. This is not a problem so much when I have sheet music, but we learn a lot of Spanish songs from recordings and don’t have the notes for them.

I can see where that is a problem. I was never good at reading notes. I can follow them if given the key, but sometimes, I just have to list to the part all the way through, then with the alto or soprano and then with three and I’m OK.

I have no clue where I lost the ability to read music, but it was sometime after I got married.

The downside is that I’ll be hearing this song in my head for days, until I replace it with the next one I need to learn.
