EV runs out of juice, pushed by coal miners
DC tourist ran out of battery in the middle of a remote West Virginia road on Friday, near a coal mine on Mettiki Coal access road U.S. 48, a few miles outside of Davis, according to WTRF.
From FaceBook:
Randy Smith on Friday Some days are just better than others. Today at our mine off Corridor H an electric car from DC ran out of battery at the road entrance to the mine. Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road. He went to investigate and found out they had indeed ran out of juice coming from DC to Davis for a get away weekend. He then went back to the mine and got guys to push the car to the guard shack so they could plug in to charge. ... See more

That is exactly the right way to see it!!
Good Friday Morning!
Expecting a rainy day today... we will see if the forecast pans out...
I am beginning to think that I need to hurry a bit more to catch a seat on the four train again...

“why she had to wait until midnight two days later to ask me is beyond me”
It’s uncharitable to assume intentional meanness, but she couldn’t NOT know it was midnight and you’d be asleep, but with the phone on, so she could be assured of waking you up.
Good morning. It’s raining here, too.
Actually, she didn’t know I’d have the phone on at that hour because who does? Even SHE shuts her phone off to sleep. I seem to be the only idiot around.
But since she lives here, she knows what time it is compared to Utah.
There was no apology and there most likely won’t be. So I’ll just live with it. And consider her rude because “but what if she DOESN’T shut her phone off....?”
What a cute little bent-eared floof!!
Good morning.
Other than the illness in the family, how did the meeting go last night? And did you have a good sleep?
Golly. I feel all worn out for some reason. (And yes, I told her “as soon as I got up this morning, I would see to” her request.) Of course, she’s using my shuttle credits but I guess when you’re spoiled, you deserve preferential treatment.
Our foregnostication is for rain and much cooler temps for the next week. Highs only in the 40s.
A Fiver is good!! It means you still live!
Maybe this is what makes this game so addictive. One never knows if one will get it first try or bomb out on six tries. I can’t help but wonder what else the inventor concocted to drive people nuts!
Good morning, Wordlers!
Another surprise for me. I’m thinking it’ll be X/6 this time, but the solution just popped out at me.
Good luck to the rest of you!

Thank you, Veterans, for your service to us all.
Thanks to those to only stood and waited while their Veterans were serving.
I for one, am extremely grateful for all of you.

The meeting was fine. It ended a little earlier than usual because several of the subcommittee leaders weren’t there with reports. I have some follow-up to do, mostly about music.
If I get an idea in the middle of the night that I think I need to share, I send an email. That way the recipient can see it at their leisure.
It’s raining here but not cold: a bit of the tropical storm. I need to get the kids up and do my physical therapy exercises!
Good morning. Happy Friday.
We haven’t left yet. I am usually ready long before Mrs. ArGee (who, I must admit, packs most of the stuff but that’s because she doesn’t trust me to pack it right). I’m not supposed to look like I’m just waiting so ...
There’s supposed to be rain here but not where we’re going. It would be nice to get out ahead of it.
4 today.

I tried calling the shuttle office, but they aren’t opening now until 0600 MST, so I’m going to go take my shower before I call them. She won’t be awake anyway, and unlike her, I’ll send an email with the new schedule.
I was taught to respect hours and persons, and no amount of associating with ne’er-do-wells will change my old habits!
Now I’m going to go in and try to warm up!
Good job, and safe journey!
Have fun on your trip and I hope Princess Dog has no problems whatsoever.
See ya Monday!
Good morning and Happy Friday! Happy Veterans Day and thank you to all here who have served.
I really hope everyone is feeling well today.
Have a great trip, ArGee!
It’s raining here and is forecasted to do so on and off all day. Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny with a high of 55° and a low of 35°, the first chilly weather since last February or March. I retrieved and washed sweaters, jackets and socks a few weeks ago, so I’m all set. (As I’m typing this, my A/C kicked on. LOL)
Congratulations on the three, ‘Face! I got a Stay-Alive Five.

Your grid looks like my mind felt this morning, but you lived to tell about it! Woo-hoo!
My A/C has been coming on the last four afternoons. Rain is due today/tonight, and colder weather for the next four days.
Except for being cranky, I don’t feel too bad!
I don’t have a lot of places to store things, but I got out a few of my heavier “church” clothes a couple of weeks ago. I did NOT unpack my summer t-shirts! It’s too cold with the A/C on and too damp and muggy with it off, so I’ve been wearing long-sleeves since I moved here a year ago.
Hours.
Mom was up at 12:30 emptying an entire box of kleenex onto the kitchen table in the dark, while Ratboy was frantically searching for her. The back inside door was open (I’d just let the dog out and went to the benjo myself) he thought she’d escaped and only closed the storm door. She insisted there was someone at the front door I needed to let in.
Mom was up at 3:00 waking everyone up because she couldn’t find the remote and wanted to watch the news.
Mom was up at 5:30 because she saw a bunch of kids playing in the back yard. 17°. No kids.
Needless to say, Tyson-who-is-not-allowed-on-the-furniture stole my bed at every turn.
Mom was up at 6:30 insisting she’d showered despite still being in the pajamas, and what about the kids in the back yard?
I finished my exercises and had a shower.
The auto-license place isn’t open today, so there’s no point in picking Tom’s car up from the mechanic. It can wait until Monday.
Amen
