EV runs out of juice, pushed by coal miners

DC tourist ran out of battery in the middle of a remote West Virginia road on Friday, near a coal mine on Mettiki Coal access road U.S. 48, a few miles outside of Davis, according to WTRF.

From FaceBook:

Randy Smith on Friday Some days are just better than others. Today at our mine off Corridor H an electric car from DC ran out of battery at the road entrance to the mine. Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road. He went to investigate and found out they had indeed ran out of juice coming from DC to Davis for a get away weekend. He then went back to the mine and got guys to push the car to the guard shack so they could plug in to charge. ... See more

Good morning. Happy Friday!

We had cool temps again this morning. It is truly November up here. Given the rotten insulation in this apartment I expect a chilly winter. Well, at least Mrs. ArGee and I can’t both run space heaters without risking tripping a circuit breaker. I guess it’s layers and blankets again.

I joined Face with a 4 today.

Best wishes for the winter. Coats and blankets will feature here, too.

Good job on the Four Word.

I dress in layers and hope for an early night when I crawl into a bed with heat. The space heater stays in the bathroom this year, since the one for the living room died. I wanted to get another but it’s just not going to happen. So I’ll sit here in the cold. Maybe my biking/hiking gloves will help keep my fingers warm.

Good morning and Happy Friday!

I’m off today on my 9/80 Friday. We’re off every Friday this month since Veterans Day and the Friday after Thanksgiving are paid holidays.

I’m going to go vote today before the forecasted rain comes in.

I hope everyone, including furry friends, is doing well today.

I join you all on the four train.

Good job! It’s always nice to have company!

So far, we’re just getting a lot of wind. The Weather Channel on my phone says a windy night with scattered storms but on the laptop, it says stormy night with possible tornadoes. Which one do I believe? :o|

And off I go with the eponymous Kathleen on our campout! I hope everyone has a great weekend, and I’ll see all of you sometime Sunday.

We’re getting the same ambiguity in our forecasting. I nipped out to vote and grab a cappuccino and kolache before the forecasted heavy storms came in. But so far, nothing has happened except a little drizzle and som threatening looking clouds that dissipated.

Oh well, at least I’ve voted and had my cappuccino and kolache.

The sun came out for a while but the clouds are back. Now the laptop is saying “possible tornadoes,” phone is T-storms around 0100 and 0300. *yawn* Not really excited about any of it, though the A/C keeps going on.

I want to go check the mail, but I don’t recall hearing the truck, so I don’t know...

The bed might be calling me, because I seem to be a little on the iffy side. I hope it goes away, soon. Not the bed, the iffy feeling. I just took some charcoal, so I hope that helps.

Well, the trip is postponed. The dog food company moved their delivery window earlier by one day and we can’t take a chance it will sit out all day. So we’re going to travel Veteran’s day instead.

On to the weekend.

Well, whenever you start, safe journey!

I don’t blame you a bit for not wanting the dog food to sit out. Of course, here, it’s porch pirates we have to worry about.

Good morning and Happy Saturday! (OK, OK, Meezer…Caturday.)

I’m going to drive down Highway 6 this morning to watch the World Series game tonight with some friends and then slip back up here tomorrow. Plus, I need a Pappasito’s fajitas fix, which we’re going to take care of this afternoon.

I’m keeping it on the downlow since I won’t be able to see everybody and don’t want to hurt any feelings.

I hope everyone is doing well this weekend.

Ridin’ on that four train…

The storm front came through late last night and though there was lots of wind damage locally, there were no tornadoes.

Good job on the four!!

I hope your weekend is relaxing and refreshing! Be good to yourself, and I’ll “see” you when you get back. :o])
