EV runs out of juice, pushed by coal miners
DC tourist ran out of battery in the middle of a remote West Virginia road on Friday, near a coal mine on Mettiki Coal access road U.S. 48, a few miles outside of Davis, according to WTRF.
From FaceBook:
Randy Smith on Friday Some days are just better than others. Today at our mine off Corridor H an electric car from DC ran out of battery at the road entrance to the mine. Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road. He went to investigate and found out they had indeed ran out of juice coming from DC to Davis for a get away weekend. He then went back to the mine and got guys to push the car to the guard shack so they could plug in to charge. ... See more

Back from a doctor appointment already. They were prompt! Tom the Son has a job interview today. It would be like Christmas every day if he were working at literally anything!!!
50s this morning, supposed to be 66 this afternoon. I’m going to Walmart for my next thing.
I hope Tom the Son is sincere about the job interview. He’s a big load to carry!
Congratulations to him for getting that far! Is it for a company that he really wants to be with?
Good morning and happy Friday Eve!
I hope everyone is feeling well today.
It’s another four for me.

SAD lights make people happy.
There must be a group prize for everyone getting a Foursie! Well done, Epople!!
How about some cake and ice cream? 🍨🎂
Indeed, they do! It has been an enormous help, as so many days are overcast here, and I’m such a desert girl — used to lots of sunshine.
Chocolate, please. 😋
It’s making Shannon and me happier.
I always have those little cups of it on hand, so chocolate it is! It’s my Second Breakfast!
I’m glad! It’s sure made a difference in how I feel!
I decided to try some 15-bean soup (Cajun seasoning) in a small batch, and if it’s good, I’ll see if FS wants to stop by on his way home from work and take some with him. Probably not. But I’ll ask, anyway.
When I tasted it before I set it to cook, it tasted very promising!
I hope it works out.
The good thing is this: Years ago, my FD asked if she had disappointed me (in something, relationship, lifestyle, whatever it was) and I said, “No. You could only disappoint me if I had expected more of you than you were willing to give.” Oddly enough, she never asked again. ;o]
So if it works out, OK. If not, that’s OK, too. I can only control myself. No one else.
Best wishes for Tom the Son on his employment pursuit!!
🤞🏻
Sounds great to me!
Chocolate or vanilla?
I meant the soup ;-).
So did I. It’s almost done and it tastes pretty good, but I don’t expect them to want any. I suddenly forgot how to cook in my old age you know, so everything I offer is refused. This will probably be no different.
Well, 15-bean soup with Cajun seasoning sounds delicious. If I were there, I’d gladly take some. 😋
You could even eat it here if you wanted to!!
FS said he had a slightly sore throat but that it sounded good and he would like if I froze some for him for the next time he came over. You betcha. Pleasant surprise!
Well, there’s another day in the history books.
I doubt any history books will include my day, but there it is.
