EV runs out of juice, pushed by coal miners
DC tourist ran out of battery in the middle of a remote West Virginia road on Friday, near a coal mine on Mettiki Coal access road U.S. 48, a few miles outside of Davis, according to WTRF.
From FaceBook:
Randy Smith on Friday Some days are just better than others. Today at our mine off Corridor H an electric car from DC ran out of battery at the road entrance to the mine. Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road. He went to investigate and found out they had indeed ran out of juice coming from DC to Davis for a get away weekend. He then went back to the mine and got guys to push the car to the guard shack so they could plug in to charge. ... See more

Wow $8 for a pack is pretty steep!
$1.25 for the cigarettes.
$6.75 for the sin taxes.
This was the first Covid infection for Steve and his wife. They’ve been very careful.
I understand flu is going around the Boy Scout troop, but since we’re not in it, we don’t have to worry.
The Clank is gone. They were supposed to let me know how much to fix the back door latch, but I couldn’t do without it for another week right now.
The last time I bought cigarettes they were $3 a carton on base. It’s amazing to me that people will pay $8 for a pack!
I’ve been careful too, so if I’ve gotten it, I don’t know about it. I could have, because the symptoms are similar to some of those of CFIDS. But between my immune system, which is “up-regulated” because of the disease, and the fact that I have no social life, I suspect I haven’t had it. It would surprise me if I had. I was wearing a mask and gloves before they were popular — when they were still around $1.50 a box for both. I just kept them on hamd.
Sounds about right!
Did I mention we had hail a few days ago?
Why does my dog lick my pillow?
Why does that not surprise me?
Your dog licks your pillow for the same reason he licks your hand -- for the salt in it.
If he hadn’t been discouraged, he would lick your hand, if only the back of it. Hands are busy things and they sweat more than we realize. But we also sweat in our sleep to a certain extent. He’s getting the salts and minerals off your pillow.
What a pretty floof!
I dreamed of one almost like that last night, but cats are not a good omen on the domestic scene.
Did you sleep well? How is the sciatica coming along?
I forgot to mention that Dollar Tree was taking applications yesterday, if anyone in your house is interested. It’s a nationwide campaign. They may still be accepting applications.
Because it's there.
Good morning. Happy Friday Eve!
It’s still unusually warm. When I ran last night I wondered if my body had already adjusted to the cooler temps. It seemed I couldn’t get any air. But it was almost 60 this morning when walking the Princess.
Another day, another four.

Good Thursday Morning, Peeps!
It’s cold here in the “South,” and I’m longing for the dry cold of the mountain valley. It’s 40° and 37% there compared to 39° and 90% here. Which one feels colder?
But. I’m here and it’s there and here’s this:

Hoping that everyone has a nice day!
Today starts at 40° and 74% here... like most days lately, our humidity will plunge down as the day warms... except for tomorrow when it is supposed to rain most of the day...
48° not 40°...
Yeah, we’re going to have gloom and rain the next five days. I’m not looking forward to it, but I finally have a SAD light, so maybe this winter will be better than the last one was. I hope so!
