Yep, like I said, he can be obnoxious. I have known a lot of military people like that. Most are not but I have met my share.
I had a supervisor at work once that was a retired Air Force Captain. One day a black lady questioned something he told her to do and he put his nose right in her face and said, “if you don’t like your job, I heard McDonalds is hiring your kind”. His eyes were stone cold hard, and I have no doubt that if he had lost control, he would have really hurt her.

Over the weekend, two masked men forced their way into a Goldsboro, North Carolina, apartment, allegedly demanding money and shooting a 73-year-old woman, prompting the woman’s 12-year-old grandson to defend her by shooting at the intruders before they fled. One of the alleged intruders, suspected of being the shooter, was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.

No, I’m not insinuating that white hats were involved.
