Men are lonelier than ever as they struggle to meet the higher dating standards of modern women, according to a psychologist.
American psychologist Greg Matos wrote in a recent Psychology Today article that the current state of young and middle-aged men's love lives shows they need to 'address a skills deficit'.
He said: 'I hear recurring dating themes from women between the ages of 25 and 45: They prefer men who are emotionally available, good communicators, and share similar values'.

I’ve also seen an increase in profiles that won’t date anyone who is vaxed, or who isn’t vaxed.

since my divorce 14 years ago, I’ve attempted it with 3 women... after sex, they all, every one, shortly there after started thinking they were calling the shots!! immediately self imposed themselves “The Boss” in the relationship. and each time I just laughed and walked away the minute it started.

Actually, I saw it the other day perusing Match.com. Lady described herself as a criminal defense attorney who doesn’t put up with any BS and is gone at the first sign of “trouble”. Good luck lady. Guys her age are going after women 10-15-20 years younger than her and they don’t have to put with her “I am woman, I am strong” nonsense. They just want to have a good time.

I, with my Ivy League degree, went for a “real man” who can change a tire and would have survived on the frontier. That was 28 years ago and we are still happily married. I guess things are different now, but I think there are still good catches of both sexes, especially among the Republicans and religious.
Actually, a lot of the women described in this article do not mind being in a harem, as long as it’s with Mr. Big.

Sometimes women just want/need to vent and not have guys try to fix it. I heard someone suggest once that the best response a man can give to a woman is “And how did that make you feel?” and just let her talk.
Honestly, just give her a hug and say something like “That must have been so hard. Let me do the dishes to help you feel better.”

Men are men and not women in men’s bodies, likewise for women. They are not the guys in a woman’s body. Both sides would to well to accommodate more often the differences in psychological make up.
As a very happily married man (43 years) I can’t say that I agree with your assessment.
Our grandchildren are free to roam and romp all over our 17 acres of heavenly bliss and Granny (and I) is happy to spoil the snot out of them!
Then again, this old guy is just happy to be so very Blessed.
