An ICU nurse has been charged with six counts of murder and five counts of vehicular manslaughter after a fiery 100mph crash left a pregnant mother, her unborn child, one-year-old son and four others dead.
Nicole L. Linton, 37, a nurse from Texas who works in Los Angeles, was charged Monday as she cried in court over the Thursday crash that killed six and left eight others injured. If convicted as charged, she could face up to 90 years in prison.
Police said Linton slammed her car into five other vehicles while driving as fast as 100 mph by an intersection at Windsor Hills.
LA County DA George Gascón revealed during a press conference Monday there was no evidence Linton was under the influence of alcohol during the time of the crash.
She was released from the hospital Sunday and is now held at the Century Regional Detention Center in Lynwood, California on a $9 million bond.

Generally, I’m of a similar mind, but you should watch the video of this accident. I like fast, powerful cars and I like speed...I’ve got a bit of a lead foot on occasion. This, however, goes far beyond anything a normal person would do, even while drunk. This is driving 100mph in a high-traffic city environment. This is more than just one bad choice. This is complete and total reckless disregard for human lives including her own.
The comments at the link are brutal.
It would be nice to think that she’s crying over what she did, but I doubt that is the case.
More than likely, she’s crying because she’s now in a situation where she screwed up her life and has to face the music for real this time.
The worst part for the nurse?
Most likely, her Boyfriend has already replaced her and won’t be visiting anytime soon.
We do, but most of us don’t have it all the time. That’s why we do stupid stuff. Every person on the internet that has blown something up or did a big fire either ignored the voice or they didn’t have it.
If you have ever done something stupid and unwise, you ignored that voice yourself. Unless you locked yourself in room and never came out and handed that key to somebody else, you have also done stuff that might not have worked out for you except it did.
I’m differentiating between the sociopaths that walk amongst us and the average person who did something stupid.
After watching the video, I say the Death Penalty would be warranted.
The video looks like that she might have fallen asleep while intoxicated.
She will deserve her sentence. I do want that understood. I’m not for treating her lightly. She’s hooped.
Soros/Gascon looking to avoid recall.
“she cried in court.” Doesn’t matter. The actions of the speeding driver speak for themselves: immature.
Her only way out is to claim she passed out from a medical condition.
Well said.
Nah, we’re pretty much “lead, follow, or get the hell out of the way” unfortunately the influx of foreigners (people from other states and illegals) have brought their home grown or lack thereof driving skills with them. :)
Decisions can be gaged by how long it takes to make a decision. Yes, some of us make split second bad decisions, but in the case of this 37 year old ICU nurse, it took thought over more than a split second to drive that car 100 mph down an LA street.
At any moment, she could have thought, “What the heck am I doing?” and slowed that car down and brought it to a stop. She made a bad decision and continued to make that bad decision for far more than a split second.
Her actions are that LA street were no different than that of a mass shooter.
A nurse did that???
I think she might have fallen asleep while driving. I am betting that is what happened.
She fell asleep and then leaned forward and put weight on the pedal.
Unless she was in an alternate mindset where she thought she was on an empty highway, until we hear more, I’m thinking that is probably what happened.
Abbot wouldn’t protect her. He would extradite her in a New York minute.
I would guess she was trying to commit suicide.
Suicide by Car,,,
.
Easier Peasie.
She had a disagreement with her boyfriend so that justifies driving 100 mph in a an urban area, and slaughtering 7 innocents.
She really deserves the death penalty.
For that to be the case, she would have to fall asleep, which one may do at 3:00 a.m. driving through Nebraska, but not in West LA at 1:00 p.m. She would then also have to fall or lean forward with just not her body but also her right foot on the accelerator all while keeping the car in a straight line.
That is all possible, but it will be hard to sell to a jury.
Take the plea, do 20-25 years (get out in 15-17) and avoid a trial
I think she fell asleep and leaned forward.
I cannot see how she could have possibly have thought it ok to do 100mph.
She’s still guilty, however.
