I’m 66. Became a fitness trainer at 52 because it never occurred to me that I was “too old” to start out in such a profession. I had many clients and good success. Just retired this year.
My mom is six months past her 100th birthday. She remembers silent movies, the A model Ford, and the Charleston as all the rage.
Age takes a toll.
Please have exact change.
I have an old sign somewhere (from the 1950’s) that says “We get too soon old, and too late SCHMART!”
As a kid I always thought it was a German saying, but now I’m thinking they just did the poor grammar and spelled “smart” wrong on purpose.?
The slogan I saw on a t-shirt recently fits right in: “I used to do cartwheels. Now I tip over putting on my underwear!” Ain’t it the truth!
Congrats on your mom! My mom was born in 1918 and died at the age of 96. She was still smart as a whip up until a week before she died. Going through the old photo albums and remembering people’s names from the 1930’s, etc.
Her mom was born in 1886 and died in 1984 - she sure had the stories too!
Then you probably recognize the song I linked to at #61...
Mom is diminishing every day and has been for years, she’ll be 94 next month.
“Ten years ago, in my mid 40s, I tore down a two story house by hand in a heat wave with temps around 108 degrees.”
Well .. . the important thing is, did you find your car keys ?
My daughter came over for a visit the other day and yelled, “Dad, you have a suppository stuck in your ear”.
I replied, “Thank God, now I know where my hearing aid is”.
I lost my keys once in my life and only once.
Yep, I know it, LOL!
THAT is something! I envy you (in a good way).🙂
That’s quite a find!
Alexander Hamilton did not speak about life after fifty from personal experience. He was killed before his 50th birthday.
I’m so old I remember when David Letterman was funny.
I’m sorry to hear about your mom.
Thank you.
Most of the comments are irrelevant because they were made so long ago as not to be relevant now.
We must listen to Clint Eastwood who mentored us...... Don’t let the old man in
