“Suppose they gave a war and no one came.”
That was a slogan of the 1960s anti-war movement. Now it’s becoming a reality, at least for the United States Army, as recruiting woes mount. The problem is a simple one: Not enough people want to be soldiers — and with reason.
The Army’s No. 2 officer told Congress Tuesday that the service has no choice but to reduce total force strength by 10,000 for the fiscal year starting in September, with the next year looking even bleaker: By the end of fiscal 2023, it could be up to 28,000 soldiers short of its 476,000-troop target. Army Secretary Christine Wormuth’s spokeswoman said it’s met only half of its recruiting goal so far this fiscal year — with just 2½ months left.
Why is this? There are several potential explanations. One is that the new “woke” Army isn’t all that appealing to the kinds of people who traditionally join the military.
As Jeff Groom writes in Spectator World, the Army has waged a culture war, and it’s a quagmire: “Imagine you are an eighteen-year-old, white, Christian male in Georgia with a family history of military service. As you progressed through your teen years, you watched Confederate statues being torn down and military bases being renamed, endless media and elitist demonization of your culture as racist and deplorable and backwards, and military and civilian leadership that thinks diversity and inclusion (i.e. fewer white men) is best thing since sliced bread. Would you volunteer? Identity politics works both ways.”

Perhaps the goal is to intentionally lose a war as a means to replace the Constitution under the terms of surrender.
I suspect they’d manage this Nation better than currently done.
Christians and rural Whites are waking up to their BS. At least my circle is.
I resigned my commission in 2015 after struggling with the decision to leave or stay. While sometimes I wish I would have stayed another year or two I’m 100% glad I’m now out. The climate appears to be untenable in today’s military. The sad part is what’s going in the military is spreading to corporate America as well meaning in a few years the climate there will also be untenable.
I can’t quit my job and work for myself fast enough.
“This loss of soldiers does not detour them from vaxing, firing and transing....”
...and pronouning.
What??
There aren’t enough homos and delusionals signing up?
“The greatest fighting force in the world is being systematically destroyed by faggots, and it is considered hateful to say anything about it.”
There will be a price to pay for this eventually. I’m syre the Chinese are taking notes.
Great post.
I was recently at lunch with a group from my high school graduation (1968). One of my good friends ask me about my three brothers and reminded me that he lost a brother in Vietnam (I hadn't forgotten.). What a waste to lose a brother who would likely still be alive and have a family of his own. I imagine the people who lost loved ones in Afghanistan feel the same.
I certainly couldn't blame him.
How long do you expect it to be before both entities, the military and the corporate world, start recruiting their members (minions) from the large numbers of single, young men and women who are pouring across our southern border?
As far as the military goes, bring them in, radicalize them, train them, and then how hard will it be to set them against natural-born Americans when the time is right? I hope I’m wrong, but it seems like too much of a coincidence that this is happening in conjunction with our borders being thrown wide-open to illegal immigrants.
Honestly, I would not advise any young person to join the US military these days. And, it is not just the Army... all branches are affected.
I'm afraid the rot goes a lot deeper than that.
join to fight, for what?
Globohomo? the continued glory of central planners in DC? Hunter Biden’s coke and whore habit?
I did my time 68-76. Today I’d NEVER tell a young person any branch of the military is the way to go, either for a short period or for a career. It isn’t a ‘military’ - it’s a socio-political enforcement regime.
I worked for defense contractors. The last one for 33 years. They were going woke faster than the military and I could not take it anymore. Most of the senior enginnering staff left within about a 3-year period, including me.
One thing that made me decide to leave after 5 1/2 years was that I noticed every assignment had an idiot who outranked me. I can imagine it’s much worse now with this woke stuff.
I pointed out the brutal truth over and over again which is that for 250 years STRAIGHT WHITE MEN have been the backbone of the United States military. That is especially true of the South which alone supplies 50% of the troops. So they go miles out of their way to demonize straight White Southern men and they’re SHOCKED they can no longer meet their recruiting goals. Gosh, who could have ever seen that coming?
All my son’s friends are walking away 4 years to 20.
Pink haired milley and a demented commander in chief, yep, no wonder it’s hard to recruit.
But, but, but, there are those hundreds of thousands of trans people who will spend their entire military careers on sick leave getting their transgender surgeries and drug cocktails at taxpayer expense. That should do the trick.
They really are just that arrogant, just that out of touch, and just that stupid. That describes all the wokeratti. Disney thinks it can go to war with parents. Netflix thinks it can shove all kinds of disgusting perversity down the audience's throat. The senior ranks of the military demonize straight white men and Southerners most of all. All of them go miles out of their way to attack their most important constituents. All of them are suffering massively and will continue to suffer massively as a result. Netflix dropped 70%. Disney dropped 50%. The US military is just starting to feel the repercussions. It will get much worse.
