Amid high gas prices, Pete Buttigieg slammed for telling Americans to switch to electric cars

Critics heaped scorn upon a clip showing Department of Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg excitedly talking about the prospect of "most Americans" switching to electric vehicles due to high gas prices.

During the short clip, which was taken from a Thursday interview between the government official and radio show BigBoyTV, Buttigieg discussed how the U.S. government is looking to cut the cost of electric vehicles so that more Americans will buy them and get out of paying so much for gas.

All smiles, Buttigieg claimed, "We’re for cutting the cost of electric vehicles, because when you have an electric vehicle then you’re also gonna be able to save on gas, but you’ve got to be able to afford it in the first place."

Buttigieg continued, "Now we’re actually starting to see on some models, the cost come to where, even if your car payment’s a little higher, your gas payment will be a little lower and you come out ahead."

The clip ended with him claiming, "But the prices still need to come down for most Americans to be able to get an EV."

For Americans angry at Biden’s energy policies – which critics claimed seem to have followed through on his campaign promise to get Americans off fossil fuels – Buttigieg’s statements added insult to injury.

As they then would overload the electric grid; Texas was a good example.

So how does this numbskull explain that Tesla had to tell drivers of Tesla’s in Texas not to power their cars due to a grid problem? Do these cretins every think through the real world problems they cause with their wonderful ideas?!

I’m hoping you’re right, at that at some point people demand a stop to this insanity. They got a 30 year headstart on us while we laughed at their ‘theory’.

If we had a fair media, there would be more exploration of this coming disaster.

Then after you switch, they tell you not to charge your cars to not stress the power grid.

Then after you cant have gas heat, and all you have is only electric, they start rolling blackouts. And you cant charge your ev.

See how that works?

They will build into the cars the ability to not charge during certain times depending on the situation.

You go to charge your car overnight, thinking it will be charged in the morning, only to find it didn’t charge at all.

I do not have enough current to run more than one too small swamp cooler on a summer day, but another 75A to charge an EV will magically be available!
Power disruptions are almost a daily occurrence.
All this EV infrastructure being planned, but the value of copper is down.
Copper ore from our local mine is processed in China.
In the West plans to tear out existing Hydro dams are still on track.

The EV charade is NOT about “Saving” anything but certain oligarchies portfolios of wealth and power over the peons.

Let’s hope people are waking up like the farmers are in Netherlands and other European countries. And the Germans are already drawing down their winter natural gas reserves! Will enough Americans pay attention to the energy situation in Europe and (maybe) the curtailments and brownouts this summer in the USA?

Serious question: How well do Musk's golf carts i.e. the Tesla hold their resale value?

How much is a used Tesla?
