Park officials said bison are wild and unpredictable, as recent incidents show.
For the second time in three days, a visitor to Yellowstone National Park has been gored by a bison.
Park officials say a 71-year-old woman from West Chester, Pennsylvania, and her daughter inadvertently approached the bison Wednesday as they were returning to their vehicle at a Yellowstone Lake trailhead.
The woman’s injuries were not life-threatening. She was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Cody, Wyoming.
The incident remains under investigation.
On Monday, a 34-year-old Colorado man got too close to a bison and was thrown as he grabbed a child. An Ohio woman was gored in May.
Park officials said bison are wild and unpredictable, and visitors should stay more than 25 yards away.

Except in this case, the person gored is 71 years old She falls into the 'lack of intelligence/critical thinking category.

Maybe.. maybe not. Disney’s been doing this a long time. “Bambi” fits her age group.

Bisons Kill people! Shoot them all and use the meat to feed the poor! Just save a few for zoos.

Same question occurred to me, but those things look more like the size of a bus.

I wish someone would ask these people who they voted for. Like you, I'm sure, I have very little doubt.

Amazing that people think they can approach wild animals and "be their friends."
Unless you have a weapon and you are hunting your dinner, do not under any circumstances approach a wild animal.

Naaaa.. Buffaloes are nothing like nature's gator. A gator is kill-eat, nothing more. Even with a barrier tween you and a gator, it will give a chill, an instinctual wariness that puts a person into a self defense mode. A person is in the presence of a cold killer that is sizing you up, perhaps already stalking you.
A buffalo can flip instantly from a pastoral grazer to a furry, 1000+ pound bulldozer on full defense. Inside that huge head of theirs is a brain that has the capacity of a walnut. If they get triggered by circumstances, they instinctively are going to defend. A buffalo can't do anything else.
Options on a buffalo's check list…
1. Eat grass
2. Walk away
3. Run away
4. Defend - charge
5. Defend - stand his ground, fight

City slicker tree huggers. I love it when they get bit by rattlesnakes while wandering around in shorts and flip flops.

The very best spaghetti sauce I ever made was with ground bison. It’s expensive, but delicious.
They are cRaZy wild - I’ve seen a vet try to work on a “domestic” herd (with proper restraint structures) & it’s still a good way to get hurt in a hurry.

Go along with some tour group and you’ll see a platoon of obnoxious people...They turn venues like Yellowstone into amusement parks. I avoid these venues like the plague.

A former neighbor of mine used to raise bison. The fence and buildings on his place looked like they were built to contain tanks.
