If the spike protein is the problem, then catching the disease will cause the same problem as any vaccine that seeks to have the body destroy the virus at the spike protein level...(e.g. blood clots are from the spike protein and seen in ordinary infections).
Luckily, the omicron variant from South Africa is going to solve the problem. It doesn't go into the lungs so deeply so is less fatal. This was a natural mutation of the delta covid joining with a cold covid virus, and maybe it happened in South Africa because so many have HIV or poor immune systems from malnutrition so the viruses could float around inside folks a lot longer.
But don't worry: the next big thing is bird flu. Or maybe a more virulent monkey pox. Or maybe even some disease that pops out of nowhere. These epidemics happen in history all the time, often mutating from animals. Which is why there are so many biolabs all over the world: they monitor farm animals and make vaccines for local germs like anthrax, brucelosis, bird flu, African swine flu, blue tongue disease, foot and mouth disease etc.
