They built their houses different. Thick walls on the south/west sides, planted shade trees on those sides, had tall windows that let in cool air at night and early AM and shut them during the day, had big porches on south/west sides with roofs so air pre-cooled, etcetc. Doing things with cold water helps. Like cold foot baths, sticking head in a bucket of cold water, wetting the hat, etc.
When we moved here before we had electricity in the first summer I went insane from heat. So I filled the bathtub with cold water and got it with clothes on a few times a day. Not kidding. Helped tremendously. Finally we got a swamp cooler, works for dry heat.

There is no remorse at the CDC. Far from it. The model of virus control deployed over the last 27 months is now part of normal operations. It wants it institutionalized.

How? The simple answer is that we need a leadership in the senate that will support a president who wants to clean up the swamp. Mitch-the-muddle couldn’t bring himself to support any real help that Trump wanted. Then we need an AG with a large growth of hair——and maybe then some more jail capacity as well as someone smart enough to go after the money of all those on the take. Bidum and Obozo might have to give up their Dachas?
