Apologies are the glue of relationships, provided they’re sincere and well-worded. Love Story’s “Love means never having to say you’re sorry” never got tested because she died pretty early in the relationship. Within 5 years, she’d have been headed for the door without them.
I like Leroy Jethro Gibbs, but his idea that apologies are a sign of weakness explains his 3 marriages pretty well. These cinematic pronunciations from leading characters about the merits of an apology are like many ideas emanating from the minds of leftists in Hollywood - destructive to a polite society.
