Monkeypox is spreading, and it is spreading much faster than it usually does.
This month, more than 140 confirmed and suspected cases have been detected in a dozen countries across Europe, North America, and Oceania. The first was diagnosed in the UK on May 7, and the number of cases that have been confirmed in that country has quickly doubled in the past two days, from nine infections on May 18 to 20 infections on May 20.
Other monkeypox cases have recently been confirmed scattered across the US, Australia, Spain, Italy, Germany, Portugal, and Sweden — the list of countries grows by the day.
One of the troubling things that disease experts have noticed with this outbreak is that the patients don't all have a clear link to one another. They haven't all traveled to countries where the disease is endemic, like the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Nigeria, or Cameroon, nor have they all been in contact with people who recently traveled to the parts of west and central Africa where animals like rodents harbor this virus.

Yeah, you guessed correctly. Aside from a LinkedIn account, I don’t have any other social media accounts. I tell my family, friends and coworkers my cell phone and email work just fine and they are more than welcome to call, text or email me if they want to contact or share something with me and visa versa.
I’m an engineer by profession and have no problem with technology and truly feel social media platforms are a waste of time and energy. And besides, I spend enough time on my phone and computer while working and prefer to spend my free time doing something active or outdoors. Free Republic is one of two sites that I use as my guilty internet pleasure.

The problem is we do not know what - or who - to believe any longer.

This disease is obviously spreed by close contact and specifically sexual contact. As is Aids it is mostly a function of sexual promiscuity. As a youth in the 60s I rather liked promiscuity. Sad same can kill you today. Aids kills but very slowly and one slowly descends into death with diminishing mental a physical abilities. It is painless but the worst is losing your mind and knowing you are dying.
Relative to this new disease “Monkey Pox” I have never heard of it. I have been a clinical pharmacist since 1989. I have great suspicions of my government.

Monkey Pox is real. How is it spread? Is it a new disease or an old disease that is now spreading in Europe and America? It seems most convenient as covid fades we have this new disease!!!!
