You might add this to your Naples links. I lived about a half mile from an ancient Greek settlement called Cumea back in the day and ventured into unauthorized areas. The main thrown chamber was worthy of a Star Trek film beam me up Scotty if the sun hit the pedestal just right.

A good bit remains unexcavated, mostly due to not having the cash to conserve the whole city, but also to leave the remaining areas intact for future archaeology.
