On my oldest son's first day in a public high school he was confronted in the lunch line by an inner city boy who threw a punch that came fairly close to my son's face.
My son, who had taken karate since age four, got his food, went and sat down at the table right across from the one who had just thrown the punch, and calmly said ... "That's not the proper way to throw a punch. Do you want me to show you?"
It turns out that he had sat down at the table with half the high school football team. They all became friends and there was never again any hint of trouble.
My daughter is 36 and at 28 moved to a group home. There was never a time when she went unsupervised at school, someone was always there because she is totally vulnerable and unable to care for herself.
I feel for autistic and Downs children (And their parents) who have to navigate schools that do not provide protection from schoolyard bullies working their way up to become ungovernable criminals.
I just don’t want you to be separated from the son you clearly love.
“According to court records, Smith (the parent) was called to the school to pick up his two sons who were being sent home due to an incident that happened on May 2...”
He was not informed what, if anything, his sons had done to be sent home.
It’s not like he snuck on campus.
DITTO
Glad it worked out for him.
I wonder if because your loved one had luck you are going to now claim these thousands and thousands of “refugees” flooding across our border daily and changing the ethnic, language and cultural makeup of our country is also a great thing.? You know everybody had personal stories.
My 2nd cousin was in a HS classroom with inner city types and one was sleeping so the teacher asked my cousin if he was and my cousin foolishly decided to do what he was taught (tell the truth) and said yes. About 4 of them caught him in the hall and beat the snot out of him. One kicked him when he was down in the face and his eyeball was dislodged on his cheek. Took quite A bit of medical care to get back to normal.
Diversity as we have been getting it crammed down our throat stinks. My city Louisville is barely recognizably because of all this great diversity. You can see Arabic, Spanish signs and all sorts of new cultural foods. You also can’t walk alone at night safely and people are leaving the city in droves due to crime and crowding. The city is now A leftist bastion that hasn’t had a Republican mayor since 1930. It is one of the few cities in the USA that police were actually shot in the BLM-ANTIFA marches of 2018–2020.
It is now a culturally/ethnically/politically diverse septic hole.
You can have your diversity , I would like to get back to some more uniformity. America for Americans, you know the way it was for most of the last 200 years?
In case you ever actually grow up, the proper procedure when dealing with youth is to start with school officials and the child’s parents. When that fails you swear out a complaint with the police and retain a lawyer.
No, I’d start with school officials, the bully’s parents, and file a police report. If nothing happens after that I’d file papers with the court. Are you really so daft as to expect an adult to confront a child directly?
I must say I'm a little shocked at the idiot density here at FR.
That was also stupid.
When I was a kid, and all through school, I never saw anybody attack, harass or make fun of disabled people. If anything, we walked on eggshells around them. Stories like these show the utter breakdown of society. People should not have to send their kids to school with these animals.
How.... civilized...
In the mean time, your kid is getting stomped by bullies while the “system” churns out paperwork and otherwise does nothing.
Do you actually think beating people up yourself is “civilized”? This is the age of the failure of reason, and our Republic.
I think that ever rule, law, and article we are expected to follow is backed up by force. That using force to defend your family AT THE POINT OF THE ATTACK is entirely ethical and even laudable.
Not sure why you seem to have such a hard time understanding that a Father would engage the attackers to protect his child.
Are you that much of a coward?
You are clearly a stupid redneck.
Go back to your soy latte. The adults are talking here.
I see no evidence that you are an adult. Your actual observable behavior and your advocated behavior are adolescent redneck in nature. You fall well short of the emotional and logical thinking of a responsible citizen.
Good for you. I’m glad you found someone to help you string those words together. Have them give you a Scooby snack.
As stated, your pusillanimity is noted and you can flounce off now...
Did you know that in most jurisdictions, use of force is fully authorized to stop the commission of a crime? Even if you aren’t actually law enforcement?
You don’t actually need to stand by and watch your kid get beat up. You can put your purse down and actually go help your child.
Also, you keep using “redneck” as some kind of epithet.
Says more about you than it’s misapplication to me does.
