Ugh....I certainly can relate. That sounds like what we were (both!) doing, about a month ago.
Hopefully, the winds will blow all of that pollen out (that your dear hubby may miss) and quickly die down.

Thanks for reminding me, I need to run to farm supply to find some orange bell peppers. I have all the other colors. I’m only planting two raised beds. In a way I miss my 40 ft by 60 ft garden. And in another way I don’t miss it one bit. That was so much work. How big is yours?
