Unwanted kids weren’t a problem, they were placed near woods. If a passerby chose to take the child fine, if not animals ate the child.
And far more violent.

That’s the Christian outlook. But it did not exist then. There was no shame in prostitution or taking part in an orgy, or, most commonly, in the fields at planting times.
Elimination happened in a dedicated but public space and no one paid it any mind. Morals as we see them today did not exist or were vastly different.
Interestingly, STDs weren’t a problem until the late Middle Ages.
