A Democratic socialist candidate for Congress in Washington State is proposing a $30 minimum wage, saying that the current push for a $15 minimum wage is an "antiquated demand."
Rebecca Parson, who's running for Congress in Washington's 6th district, tweeted on April 21 that the minimum wage should be increased to $30.
"$15 minimum wage is an antiquated demand. It should be $30 per hour," Parson tweeted.

Yesterday I paid $14.50 for a beef taco, cup of rice, and soft drink at a Mexican fast-food joint. I was the only person in the restaurant at about 4:00 pm. Three years ago, that same meal probably would have cast about $9.50.

A million an hour wage is all we need. People can work a few hours and be wealthy for the rest of their lives. They can work more if they want to or do whatever they want. Problem solved. No more poverty and all can live in peace and harmony. Socialism is so simple and beautiful. The only thing in the way are those dastardly evil people who for no reason other than cruelty talk about business owners not being able to afford it. Their math and economic theory is just their hateful truth. In our enlightened truth business owners can easily afford it...they are just selfish and short sighted not to already being paying a million an hour.
C’mon man! Why not make it six figures monthly, minimum? Think of the boost to the economy when everyone has millions to spend?

Just as an aside, if we get rid of the MW altogether we can also get rid of a huge chunk of that illegal-alien problem.
Be lucky she’s working and you can get a free night from cooking. Our local pizza shop is now open every other day due to staff shortages. Happening in many mom and pop places. There are too many workers for every vacancy.
This is what these radical types pushing these high minimum don’t understand. If businesses are forced to pay higher wages, then the price of whatever product they sell needs to go up as well.
And, if the price of the products rise, many people will decide not to go there as often and buy the products.
Then, if sales are flat or don’t rise enough to cover the costs of higher wages, the business will be in financial trouble.
Most people don’t understand that the biggest expense in most businesses, is paying the hired help.

By the time they get it through $30 won’t be worth any more than $15 was a year ago.
Who didn’t see this coming?
There won’t be people making burgers at that price. Robots will be used more and more.
The kids I have hired aren’t worth $3 an hour let alone $30!
