Global nuclear wars are good for Soros and company.

You must be very pleased with how well his Great Reset is going.

Exactly what I was thinking. It is a guided-missile cruiser. It is too small to be called a battle cruiser.

I never claimed Ukraine was “our” problem. I just will never support the idea of a thug country like Putin’s Russia running roughshod over other countries.

Any real conservative would detest this invasion.

My posting history on this issue makes it pretty clear where I stand, and it most certainly is not on the side of Soros and the Great Reset.

That doesn’t change the fact that what happened yesterday to the Moskva is anything less than a catastrophe for Russia.

Ukraine is corrupt. There’s no doubt about it. But what Russia did and is doing to Ukraine is EVIL. The Ukrainians are far from perfect, but they didn’t invade Russia. Russia started a war that never had to happen.

Why are Americans so freaking excited about this and the Ukraine in general? You people are rooting for the Ukraine just like you’re rooting for ‘YOUR TEAM’ in the Superbowl.

You chose sides like this is a sporting event and it’s disgusting.

Interesting definition of disgusting.

What I find “disgusting” is muslim Chechen filth raping and murdering Ukrainian women. What I find “disgusting” is the US projecting weakness and so-called conservatives running like cowards in the face of Russian mass murder and genocidal tactics.

You bet our enemies like China and Iran are noticing, too. Conservativism without core values will not exist as a political movement. It’s that simple.

I would claim that Ukraine is ‘our’ problem. We signed an agreement appending a Treaty that assured their borders and sovereignty in exchange for relinquishing nukes. The Ukes honored it, the Rukes violated it by invading twice, and now the US is looking for ways to abrogate it.

Russia invaded Ukraine. They seem to think that by calling it a “special military exercise” they are still respecting the borders and sovereignty of the Ukraine. So we can not-invade ourselves, call it a “special military exercise” which really DOES respect the borders and sovereignty of the Ukraine and according to Russia’s viewpoint, we would still be in compliance with the agreement. Russia has proven to be a less-than-efficient military juggernaut, so we would probably push them back to their own borders within 2 weeks.

We should send in plenty of soldiers into western Ukraine where there are no Russian boots on the ground fighting. That would free up Uke guys to fight in the east.

We should also set up a volunteer force for any American soldier who wants to fight in the east. We would have a lend-lease program for American emBASEeees in exchange for the help.
https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/4043681/posts

Americans would be fighting for American territory, emBASEees. We could call it the BBudapest AAgreement LLend LLease policy, because it would take BALLs.

Ukraine is one of the most corrupt countries in the world. Period. Russia is being ruled by a dictator with visions of restoring the old Soviet Union’s empire.

My interest in this is in watching the relative effectiveness of two country’s military capabilities. Nothing more.

Russian military capability is being exposed for the lie we helped to create in the Cold War to prop up military spending.

It is also handy in underlining the lesson the US already learned over the last 25 years - taking a country is one thing, but holding it is quite another.

I’m convinced a direct non-nuclear military engagement between the US and the Russians would end quickly, positively and decisively.

I’m absolutely gobsmacked that the Russians have lost tanks equivalent of over two full divisions. I’m amazed that the flagship of their task force has been evacuated (as per the Russians) and that they have lost other capital ships and air assets.

Now they are threatening Finland and Sweden. (With what, and soon, with whom? Mothers are making life very difficult for Putin at the moment and Putin is conscripting men and making them operational without the benefit of even basic training).

Leave it to the Europeans to cock up things and have a major land war every eighty years or so.

I’m not sure the average person understands the complexity and cost of sustaining 100,000 armed men in the field. Putin certainly didn’t grasp it, and apparently neither did his command staff or his colonels or they’d have made sure their gear was ready for deployment. Relying on rail to get things from point A to point B was another head scratcher.

In all, it is so odd to see actual military reality played out before us as a counter to the bullsh!t we were fed my entire life about the capability of the Russian (and Chinese) military. It’s perverse to witness, I admit.

However, I’m not rooting for either side. In fact, to the extent they can wipe each other out, satisfactory. A horrible thing to think about and admit, but there you go. You want to fight, take it outside the bar. Eventually you’ll both get tired of fighting and buy each other a beer.

I’m interested in a weak Russia and Ukraine. I’m interested in China looking on and perhaps deciding that all that Russian oil may be worth losing 80M men you can afford to lose in the first place. I’m also interested in whether the Chinese appreciate how non-operational their own military assets are and that if they actually had to use them like the Russians are now, they’d fare even worse.

May they both lose, and may China be emboldened to attempt an invasion of Russia and the lie of their vaunted military prowess be exposed. India is watching as well. I believe India might fare better than Ukraine in staving off either Russia or China (or both).

Great points. It’s easy to forget the terms of that Budapest Memo. The world’s powers agreed to ensure Ukraine’s security in exchange for giving up its nukes (which I am willing to bet they deeply regret).

Ukraine Sinks Battlecruiser Moskva ...

That’s not a battlecruiser...

Exactly what I was thinking...

What would a real real conservative think of a Nazi Azov militia shelling and ethnic cleansing Donbass for 8 years for the crime of opting out of the coup?

Real conservatives? You mean like Rand Paul? He just voted with all 99 other Senators against Russia.

You can stop with the Azov fairy tales. No one outside the brainwashed Putinist cult believes such nonsense after 50 days of Russia’s mass rape and murder in Ukraine.

Russia has lost this war. The only question now is how they will lose.

No, we chose sides because Russia is the aggressor. To invade as sovereign state is a crime against humanity. Russia must and will pay the price. Putin must be held accountable for war crimes.

Moskva Is a guided missile cruiser. Unlike US GMCs, it’s missiles are not protected by armor. They are exposed on the deck and vulnerable to fire as we have seen here.

Exactly. Although it may not have been apparent, I posted the quote simply as a bit of trivia, that would be meaningful to those who have some familiarity with naval history (and actual “battlecruisers” ;>)...

One can make the argument the nuclear powered KIROV class are BCNs. SLAVA class are CGs.
Ofc these are some of the same urinalists who think everything with tracks and a turret is a tank.
Side note. Even though the Swedish S-tank does not have a turret it was decided to call it a rank due to its mission.
