I was on this steroid for a short while for a sinus infection. Made me feel great while I was on it, but believe it is not good to be on for long durations!

It makes people retain water. Yes, lots of nasty potential side effects. I would not recommend it for weight loss.

I had a very bad case of Polymyalgia rheumatica (Also known as: PMR)

I couldn’t dress myself, every joint in my body was frozen, I couldn’t chew my food.

My Doctor put me on Prednisone and it knocked the PMR out overnight.

The side effects of taking prednisone were; it destroyed my immune systen, and I came down with whooping cough, it also destroyed my A1c diabetic reading.

It took a year to wean me off of prednisone, but my immune system came back, and my PMR is gone.

I also know 3 women who were on prednisone and they all became belligerent and combative, and would break out in tears for no good reason.

They are saying, “take it in the evening.” Really? I was told to take my daily dose (and for a time it was 100mgs per day) as soon as I could in the AM as it causes insomnia. I think I may have felt it. I had just returned from East Asia when I was first prescribed and it did seem jet lag lasted much longer than previously.

Mom-in-law had cancer - prednisone treatment helped with the pain. She was also diabetic and it drove her sugars out of whack. Doctor said her comfort was worth the sugar spike - she didn’t last long.

Prednisone can also permanently turn your teeth a bright shade of yellow, like canary yellow, and cause skin problems if you go in the sunshine while taking a course of it.

Isn’t it a steroid? You might end up slapping your host right before your award.
