Yep, the ultimate “Bushie”.
Never heard of her
It’s not always as treatable as they would like you to think.
I first bumped into his writing in Rolling Stone magazine back when I walked the line between liberal and conservative.
His biting humor opened my eyes to the hypocrisy of all politicians but did influence me ultimately into figuring out which side was sane and which side was whack.

O’Rourke: US-Israel relationship must transcend ‘a prime minister who is racist’ [04/07/2019]
That was Beto, not P.J.
Oh, no! He was one of my favorite pundits. He was brilliant at National Lampoon back in the day.
“Poverty can’t be eliminated by punishing people who’ve escaped poverty.”
P. J. O’Rourke
“He believed in Free Trade Uber Alles, that’s where I started to move away from him.”
I believe he was for free trade, but without the cronyism and backdoor deals that screwed the little guy. He was pretty much a libertarian in that regard.
Agreed! I had a wonderful P. J. book in my library. He had a gift.
Rip
“A Parliament of Whores” is a MUST READ for understanding everything wrong with the govt.
It’s also one of the funniest things you’ve ever read.
Especially the part about inseminating cows
One of my most favorite authors.
God bless you PJ!!!
DAmn this makes me sad. Met him at a book signing once
He was great. I only read him intermittently, but it was always a pleasure.
Which is precisely what Trump was trying to do, but PJ, basically said that Trump wanted to restore Mercantilism. Way off the mark there, and typical of most Trump critics that didn't get what he really was all about.
Do you have any good manners at all???
Ah, that’s a shame. Used to love his articles in National Lampoon when I was a kid, and continued to appreciate his wit and his willingness to stand up to political correctness in later years.
Satirist PJ O’Rourke has died.
Still, I am going to miss his wit.Despite his anti Trump rants, his observations about liberals and the left are still spot on.
-PJ O'Rourke
Well when you oppose free-for-all no rules trade because the industries that create you national strength are targeted for destruction you are a mercantilist, regrettably.
The problem is that mercantilism should not be regarded as a dirty word.
