The heavy blue thing my wife bought for me to use makes chili, short ribs, barbacoa, 15 bean soups like a champ.

Just have to be careful washing it to not drop in and farque up the sink

I have a terra-cotta one and it makes the BEST pot roasts.

Low and slow with fresh rosemary and the meat just falls apart. Then I make my gravy in it.

I have my grandmother’s cast Dutch oven. It has so much seasoning to it that absolutely nothing sticks to it. It’s the best cooking utensil I own.

Oh yes. We cook just about anything in a Dutch oven when camping. Our friend Julie makes a murderously good pineapple upsidedown cake in a Dutch oven. Mmmmmmm.....

My wife and I were discussing an economical way to prepare stews and sourdough breads. We decided to go Dutch on a Lodge. Much cheaper, just about as good.
