Another midterm worry for Biden White House: probes and impeachment attempts

The U.S. midterm elections are some 10 months away, but President Biden's administration and allies already foresee a possible scenario in which Republicans take the House of Representatives, the Senate, or both, and launch a series of investigations and attempts to impeach the president.

It hired a special advisor, former New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu, to oversee implementation of the $1 trillion infrastructure law, which Republicans would likely scrutinize in search of fraud.

"They’ll subpoena everything under the sun," said Richard Painter, former associate counsel under Republican President George W. Bush.

“We are going to go after this administrative state, and we are going to start at the Department of Justice and the FBI,” Gaetz said, referring to Jan 6.

Some Republicans have already signaled an appetite for impeaching Biden, with a group of four led by Gibbs filing articles of impeachment over immigration on the U.S. border with Mexico and for the way U.S. troops were removed from Afghanistan.

“There will be a lot of this Hunter stuff, and a lot of it is going to be unfair to Biden, and a lot of it is going to be personal,” Painter predicted.

It would be. However the GOP will be reaching across the aisle as usual. And neglecting to give us a reach around.

It is interesting to consider getting rid of the Department of Education.

They’ve been promising to do it for years. Leaving aside Reagan (Presidents cannot abolish agencies or Cabinet departments created by law), the GOP had 1995-2001 to do it, and again had 2003-2007 and 2011-2019 to do what appears to be a simple job, and - nothing.

I propose that the system of government created in 1788 is obsolete, is not able to take any action on behalf of the nation, and needs at a minimum a new political movement to run candidates and take over Congress, or it needs to be changed altogether.

Typical Bushie attitude. None of it will be fair and it isn't meant to be fair. It is called winning in a game where there are no rules. Fair is when there are rules and you play within the rules. Democrats play unfair everyday. It is our turn to crush them; abuse the shit out of them and destroy their lives. Lock their asses up.

The son-of-a-bitch is no good and more deserving of impeachment and removal than any WH occupant in history.

McCarthy must make the Dems pay......those who worked for years and years to become ranking members of their committees get Thrown off....they let Pelosi screw Republicans. This is the price. All their dreams must die.

Piglosi’s January 6th inquisition must not be eliminated. Instead, it must be filled with new members and then investigate the FBI’s participation in the minor fracas, the unconstitutional treatment of the political prisoners, and the unlawful killing of Ashli Babbitt. The Capitol Police officer who shot that unarmed trespasser, Lt. Michael Byrd, is still on the job. The test for McCarthy and McConnell is whether that malicious clown still has a job 5 minutes after they take over.

YES!

Easy low-hanging fruit that he is.

These clowns refused to go after Hillary’s blatant crimes. They’ll balk at this, too.

Corruption in DC is like Jenga, start pulling those blocks out, and the whole thing could come down.

No group of people who would put a senile old crook like Joe Biden in the Oval Office really cares about what will happen. Nothing good can come of it. It’s pure chaos and destruction.

>> Back in 2019 Democrats invented a new game: impeach the president of the opposing party just for the hell if it. Should the GOP take the House in 2022, I suggest that they play the same game. <<

I agree. As for the "he won't get convicted by the Senate", well DUH. I wouldn't want him convicted anyway, because that would result in Kamala Harris becoming POTUS.

There was zero chance the Senate would convict Trump too, the RATS kept on impeaching Trump anyway just because they didn't like him and wanted to call him an "impeached President" (from the same party who lectured us about how Clinton getting blowjobs from an intern his daughter's age didn't "rise to the level of impeachment"). We should return the favor. Hell, I suggest impeaching Biden three times in a row just so we can call him "the most impeached President in history"

Payback is a b!tch.

impeach, certainly, but don’t remove, which would open the door for a replacement (Hillary) Joe’s doing a great job of building an R majority. Can he remain breathing is the bigger question, which also involves some scary scenarios (Hillary, again)

investigate the hell out of the administration., FBI, DoJ, Fauci, Homeland Security.
Eliminate (defund ) dept. of Education. Move some departments, lock, stock, and barrel, outside of DC.

Rebudget with veto-override majorities

Oh, to be king for a day.

Impeaching poor Biden would be incredibly stupid, so stupid, in fact, that it seems just like something the Republicans would do.

What Congress should do is create a mental fitness consulting body, which they have the authority to do under Amendment XXV, have Biden examined, and then removed from office when the obvious results are known.

Impeachment without possibility of conviction is just mental masturbation, the harm Biden is doing is not purposeful and isn’t really in fact his own doing.

But I don’t see any other way since he and his administration have committed real crimes. And it won’t just be Biden. Even knowing about the election fraud alone would be enough.

Removing a president is a very problematic exercise, especially in the present case which would mean removing one incompetent and replacing them with another. Even in his diminished state Biden is still probably more able (from a purely relative standpoint) than Harris. JMHO

At the very start, two things they have to do. Dr. Fauci with NIH funding of gain of function research in the lab in Wuhan, China. And the extent of FBI’s invovlement in 1/6, was it a false flag operation? Did the FBI use operatives to encourage MAGA protestors to trepass the Capitol building on 1/6?

At the point of regaining majorities, I’d move to make everything and anything related to the RATS irrelevant. Does that include impeachment proceedings? Doubtful.

Why? Unless you CONVICT and REMOVE, what’s the point? I don’t see one. Have President Harris? God, no!

Correct. To investigate for investigation’s sake is stupid. These people MUST be jailed.
