Fields has been average at best for a rookie. However the history of QB’s coming out of Ohio State have been busts, to mediocre at best.

Running QB’s work fine for the college game, but rarely translate to the next level.

However I believe C.J. Stroud will be a high draft pick next year, and thrive in the NFL. He is a classic pocket passer, and very accurate.

Too old to coach, but young enough for the Senate.

I thought Fields was the second coming, no?

I’ve loosely followed, but haven’t turned on the NFL in two years. It hurts because I like football, but if they want to call me a racist because I’m white, then I’m tuning out.

I think Ditka is about 80 years old.

At 80, if Ditka had dementia, he'd still be better than Biden at anything, including president, and Biden is about the same age.

Yes, Fields had ESPNs blessing and his failure is related to white supremacy and systemic racism. Bring in the black head coach. Any black head coach. Brady’s offensive coordinator from Tampa?

They should look at Brian Flores, I really don’t know why the Dolphins fired him.

"Too old to coach, but young enough for the Senate."

Coaching an NFL football team is undoubtedly a lot harder than being in the US Senate. For one thing, you actually have to work.

I heard a saying recently about the NFL which said, NFL teams don’t get better they get a better QB.

Without an above average QB, it’s almost impossible to win consistently in the NFL, the talent is to equal with the exception of above average QB play, those teams with it win and those who don’t lose and their coaches get fired.

Unless he had a hand in the talent acquisition end of the team, I don’t think Nagy should be fired, he had a washed up Andy Dalton and a Rookie Justin Fields at QB, that’s a terrible hand to play with.

OTOH, Zimmer in Minnesota has a decent QB in Kirk Cousins and have surrounded him with weapons, Dalvin Cook, Adam Thielen, Justin Jefferson are all legit NFL players capable of putting up big numbers.

Zimmer probably deserves to be fired, the Chargers coach does as well.

The other NFL coach who I think is a clown who was in his first year this year is the Atlanta HC Arthur Smith.

Matt Ryan is not great, but still has ability to be solid and might have 1-2 years left in him.

The Falcons have talent at the skill positions.

Calvin Ridley went out with a mental health condition which I’m not sure about.

Russell Gage, Cordarrelle Patterson and Kyle Pitts are legit players who most teams would love to have.

Kyle Pitts in particular was misused this year IMO, yes he made the pro bowl as a rookie and had over 1000 yards receiving, yet he only scored ONE TD all year, that’s crazy, someone how some way you have to get him the ball more often especially in the redzone.

Atlanta will probably go in a different direction at QB and all those offensive players will be wasted next year and Smith will likely be fired.

“Brady’s offensive coordinator from Tampa?”

Talk about somebody riding coattails

Leftwich has a ring from playing behind Roethlisberger and another one with Tampa Bay last year.

I hear he’s such a terrible OC Brady is changing the plays in the huddle.

Of course he’s “color coded” so....

Or it’s just an annoying question. Really “ya think you’re gonna get fired” should only be answered with snark.

Carroll was uncharacteristically testy

Oh you mean like if you ask him about Reggie Bush at USC?

“And the MN Vikings fired their head coach, Don Zimmer“

Don Zimmer was a very good third base coach, but the Vikings were nuts if they thought that his skills would somehow translate to football coaching. And, he’s getting a bit up there in age, too.

Oh. Never mind… :)

I think everyone forgot about Jon Gruden. He’s a good coach and available.

I agree. Nine wins isn’t a firing offense. I think the owner is looking at Michigan, even tho he denies it.

I don’t think anybody’s forgotten about him. Also, he wasn’t really doing a good job. He kept starting seasons pretty good only to flame out. And this season the Raiders had no 1st quarter points under him, but scored in the 1st almost every game without him. That’s generally a team not coming out ready to play.

Don’t worry, I follow the TB Lightning (they’re not kneeling on the ice before every game, yet), and every once in a while slip up and call their superstar Nikita Khrushchev
