ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC/WKRC/CNN Newsource) - There was an angry protest outside of one of America's most respected medical institutions on Monday.
The world famous Mayo Clinic made good on a threat to fire employees who refused COVID vaccinations on January 3. That number reached a reported 700 employees, according to CBS Minnesota. That makes up about 1% of Mayo's 73,000 workforce.
Between chanting, honking and marching, protesters outside of Mayo Clinic made their message clear. The hospital's deadline for its employees to get vaccinated -- or terminated -- prompted dozens to speak out.
Some now-former employees joined in after their last day on the job. Others were still hospital employees who received exemption.
"As a nurse, my medical exemption was denied my first round and was approved, my appeal was approved," said Kari Wendt. "So I was very close to being in those shoes of being fired today."
Also in the group were people not associated with pandemic front line workers but in support of those out of a job.
"I'm not a health worker, I'm a veteran," said Pat Smith. "But what's happening to health workers, a lot of first responders and military, is unconstitutional." But still, there was pushback from the other side as protesters pressed on.
Overall, Mayo Clinic says its vaccination mandate has been a success. The hospital says 93% of its employees are now vaccinated. Those released Tuesday can return to Mayo Clinic for future job openings if they get vaccinated.
I suspect most.
I JUST mailed] my completed survey pertaining to my last doctor’s visit. At the end I asked if patients ever will be able to trust the healthcare community again. Did it via snail mail with no return address, name, etc. They say it’s anonymous, but I’ve created and sent email surveys in my career, and rarely are they truly anonymous.
Against the law, but the pols don’t care.
They will when the lawyers start swarming them like angry hornets! Especially if SCOUTUS pops their heads out of their @sses and rules this unconstitutional. Ain’t holding my breath.
Commie care requires far less skill and training.
Yes, the vote of confidence was 99% to 1% of their total workforce.
Assuming an equal proportion of medical expertise and stratification across both groups, what does that tell you?
“They just forfeited the right to turn anyone away due to staffing shortages, or complain in any way about staffing. “
Must have free $$$ coming from biden.
I do not know........I’ve not taken the vax..and won’t ever.
America will need these 700 former Mayo Clinic employees and thousands more who have been fired when the vaccinated have died from a multitude of fatal vaccine injuries over the next two years.
They will be the surviving TRUE heroes and history will completely vindicate them and their choice to refuse the jabs.
I concur. Perhaps somebody will find another way, like making people disappear without a trace.
I know this is Mayo Rochester....
....and I wonder if the same will happen at Mayo, Jacksonville, which is a very fine hospital
We have been there many times.....awesome care!
‘They’ are out to destroy our fine institutions
I told my employer that I had a religious objection. That’s all I told them. I did not give any details. They asked me if it was “sincerely held” I told them that I was willing to quit if they didn’t accept it. They accepted it.
“Yes, the vote of confidence was 99% to 1% of their total workforce.”
Compliance is not automatically confidence. There was 99% *compliance* when forced to choose vaccination if you wanted to keep working there.
Our fine institutions are in bed with Deep State.
How fascist of them!
It wouldn't be nonsensical medical profession firings sparking violent rightwing retribution. OKC was pulled off by the Deep State 1) to blame and put the Conservative movement in a bad light and 2) to rid government records of Bush-Clinton shenanigans at Mena, Arkansas and 3) to destroy one-of-a-kind Desert Storm records that were sent to the Murrah Building from around the country and the Pentagon. Those records would have helped many veterans' lawsuits against the government. That made for yet another takedown of the predominantly Conservative military. Thank you once again, Bill Clinton--NOT!
A Timothy McVeigh-style bombing would likely be a false flag once again.
It tells me that they’re vaxholes. Time to upgrade the keywords.
Government is out to inveigle itself into the previously-inviolable doctor-patient relationship everywhere they can. With Corporate medicine, they’ve got CEO’s and administrators that have their eyes fixed on the financial reimbursement structure government gives.
Through FedGov protocols and formularies, the government has taken over from the docs. If the latter complain? Poof! They’re gone.
Nice moves.
BTW, I like your tagline so I’m gonna update the tagline page.

Agreed...but that’s not gonna work at many places...of work.
