Thanks for asking. He is doing very well! Standing and walking more and more, much more alert and “himself”. We had some rough days there as he was in withdrawal from the many meds the mental health facility put him on. His hands shook so badly he couldn’t hold a cup, but he can now, and even fed himself with a spoon today. I am convinced that the medicine combo they had him on was major overkill. He is down to just an anxiety med to help him sleep now.
He is a lot more alert, cognition is better, more communicative, recognizes us, ornery but not combative or aggressive. He is seeing PT, OT, nurses every day, and he is working so hard, he really wants to do everything himself as he did before.
I really dislike one nurse - a real male “Karen” (freaked that none of us were vaxxed) Started talking about hospice before he had even evaluated my FIL. I am not against hospice when the time comes but sheesh. All because he is thin and was sleepy during the visit. He has always been thin. Normally 135, now 125, but has already started putting weight back on. Anyway, so far so good.
He won’t be going back to that MC. We may consider a day program when the better one opens back up because he misses his friends and has been asking about them.

Of course, he has covid. How very convenient for him. Too bad he doesn’t really have a serious case of covid.
