Merry Christmas! I hope everyone is having a good evening. This is, I think, the tenth edition of the annual thread dedicated to those among us who, for whatever reason, find ourselves solo on the night before Christmas.
Here in my cozy habitat, it's just me, my faithful hound and, a little later, Ralphie Parker and then George Bailey will make his yearly appearance.
The presents are wrapped and under the tree. After dinner, I'll imbibe a latte and then maybe a little vino.
Anyone else solo tonight?
It’s not really hard doing Christmas solo as some imagine. Of course I’ve been on my own many Holidays as the family moved about the USA. for one reasoner another. It was once said to be being alone is really...All -Oneness. There’s something to be said about that favorable and if you know the Lord it’s really quite special.
Enjoy your time to celebrate,
CAWW
Just me and wife. Children have let us down and we don’t want to party with what’s left of the family because strangers will be there and we’re still wary of the CCP flu. No idea what to believe.
I’d fog ‘em with a low concentration bleach solution and have ‘em over anyway.
I live in New Hope, MN
Hugs to you and Merry Christmas!
Hugs and Merry Christmas everyone
I have idiot liberal relatives and family members showing up..
If I knew, then I would have spent Christmas alone and I could enjoy myself without hearing about Diaper Head and VP HO DISCUSSED AT THE TABLE.
Our plans were to spend it with our son (Fire Captain) and his wife (RN in a COVID ICU) at a major hospital her in TEXAS. She was diagnosed with Covid last night. GOD Bless America.
With my sweetie tonight. Decided not to cook. Ordered Chinese - Lemon Chicken here - Dragon and Phoenix there.
Watched Scrooge, UK production with Albert Finney.
Opened a few items.
I have been all alone and it’s not that bad. I always have my puppy. Currently a 4 year old Bichon mix that’s burrowed next to my side as I type.
Did a lot of thinking of Christmases past and people gone. So bittersweet. Thinking of how much life has passed and the world, how it’s changed.
as usual
Thank you for watching! They’re good kids.
That’s so CRUEL to do to her!
Makes me want to throttle her daughter!
GRRRRRR!!!
I am so glad you are with her tonight, Publius!
God bless!
If you can send it to me, much appreciated.
New Hope Center is located Cedar and Lake St area in Minneapolis proper.
I grew up in Golden Valley and went to Armstrong. My wife is from New Hope and went to Cooper.
We are in Blaine these days.
Pleased to make your acquaintance neighbor =)
Hey, me too. We are brothers.
...and had actually gotten the day off because of seniority, but then they turned around, and scheduled me to work the midnight shift that night, so I told them to give the day to someone else. I worked 16 hours straight (3-11 and 11-7), and vowed it would be the last Christmas I would ever work for New York State, and it was.
Nothin' wrong with a little double time and a half, eh?
Merry Christmas to you, my walkin' boss brother.
Merry Christmas!!
I’d be ok with it, it’s my oldest sister that’s wigging out.

I wish we could all be with you, dear Publius to share in the sweet festivities you have planned, for your dear friend.
The Bishop’s Wife is one of my faves. The original, or the remake? I love them, both.
The skating scene, in the original, is my fave scene.
Please offer your dear housemate a cheer, from hubby and me, from all the way over here, in TX. We lift our glass to both of you....for a very blessed Christmas.
Tomorrow sounds like another divine day, that you have on tap.
We should all be so lucky to have such a dear friend, as you.
Our family sends you both our best.
