Followup question for coders and hospital admins involving T50.Z95A Alex Berenson
If you have access to a large database (like a hospital-wide database), please run a search since 2015 or so for diagnoses involving this code and stratify by year. Extra credit if you search for the trends in diagnoses where the primary DRC is cardiovascular that include this code. Screenshots would be great.

A couple medical coding issues around Covid I am chasing Alex Berenson
They seem technical but are crucial to determine how well the vaccines are working and what their side effects are or aren’t:
The first has to do with how easy/hard it is to classify a Covid patient as Covid vaccinated in hospital EMR systems; The second has to do with ICD U12.9/T50.Z95A (if you are a coder, you will know what these are) – whether systems are accepting them at all, whether anyone is using them, whether they impact reimbursement.

I haven’t shaved since January 20, and only intend to when the communists and associated bags of crap are out of running our country.
Well, I had my first in-person team meeting today in 6 months.
Most of my increasingly feeble-minded co-workers got their boosters and talked about this very excitedly. One even admitted to jumping in line before his age group was eligible.
The women showed off their Christmas masks and matching mask - sweater sets.
A couple men had plaid masks.
I wore all black.
They all crammed themselves around a too-small conference table.
I fortunately got there a little late and there wasn’t really room for me.
That was planned.
Many had two donuts. Or more.
I felt like announcing that it was announced that a fourth booster would probably be needed soon, but I wasn’t really part of the conversation where they recounted their recent booster experienced because I had slipped out at break to go find and talk to my informant/former work husband.
Oh, and a few had gotten their flu shots; a couple of these at the same time as the booster.
Most remarked that they felt not so great after the booster for a couple days but were happy because this did no necessarily happen when they got the jabs earlier in the year and they worried that this meant the jabs wouldn’t work.
They felt relieved they felt icky this time because they believe the current jab will really save them.
I think I’m going to have a glass of wine.
Or throw up.
It’s kind of 50/50 at this point.
I think I might have some pretzels that aren’t stale.
I felt fine before I got to work.

I’m mostly exasperated with myself. I forgot it was a new thread, didn’t read the poster’s name first, and fell for what everyone else saw as an obvious photo-shop. It always annoys me when the trolls pop in at the beginning of every thread ONLY to disrupt. Doing something like that is foreign to me and I don’t understand the thinking that precedes it, so I’m not as discerning as I should be. I should probably apologize for the short bus crack but I’m not quite there yet. Tomorrow ... maybe.

I hope you’re past the itchy stage. I grew mine the instant I was able (well, before, actually…) and in 50 years have only shaved it off when work required, like when I was in some movies. Beats the crap out of shaving, and it helps hide my face, which benefits everyone.
Seems that as usual, figures from the CDC are bulls***.
Every now and then they admit some truth, as they did around May, that only 5 or 6% of “covid” deaths were really from covid, and similar % of “covid” positives were really covid. Of course that quickly disappeared like pebbles dropped into a deep well.
Pretty much every vax mandate is being thrown out in courts. Can’t wait for the military and private business mandate to be junked.

I hear you. I feel like that a lot, especially having been an RN. It’s all fallen on deaf ears in my family. I try to constantly remind myself that God is in control, is absolutely GOOD, and has a perfect, marvelous plan. I figure I have two options- faith or fear. Staying in faith helps my mental health. Prayers we may all be kept in peace as we walk beside the vaxxed and minister to them. I’m believing we’ll see some amazing turn around.
Wasn’t Lysenko the madman who tried to grow wheat in the arctic? Mendelian genetics was counter-revolutionary and that wheat needed to taught a lesson!
I’ll think of your post every time I’m tempted to sulk or feel sorry for myself because I’m sitting out the orchestra season yet again, and perhaps (likely?) only prolonging my inevitable retirement. I know it would be infuriatingly mind-numbing to have to listen to my musical colleagues blabbering on ad nauseam about their jabs and boosters that they voted to make mandatory (yes, voted!). And I thought it was bad in the years before, having to listen to the conductor rant and cuss about Trump every chance he got.
Meanwhile, back in my real world, I’m discovering new acquaintances each week who have refused the jabs and are remaining firm. At this point, no one is remotely “hesitant” about it anymore. They all say the same things - this is their line in the sand, the battlefield issue for them. Each one has gone up in my estimation for this, and many are becoming fast friends with this unique shared camaraderie.
I actually began keeping an unjabbed list for reference - it’s up to almost 40 people now! DH and I are not big social animals, so this is a huge amount. Way more than the jabbed friends and relatives!
Last week, we were in Home Depot looking at a particular appliance. There was no helpful employee in sight, but a fellow shopper looking at similar items asked if he could answer any questions for us! Turns out he is a handyman, so we took his business card for future reference. He was all upfront about how he didn’t trust the government and would never get the jab. Delighted, we replied, “you’re just the kind of person we like to call!”
