Make sure to seal any holes where plumbing comes in. I moved into an old mobile home on my parents farm when I got my divorce in the 70’s. One morning I went to start breakfast and the garbage can was rattling. A baby opossum peeked out over the rim at me. I chased it down the hall every morning, grabbed it by the tail, and put it outside, until it got too big to get in. My dad said that there was a litter born every year under it and when they lived in it while building their house, two babies always sat on his feet in the morning while he shaved. They can get quite tame but not something you want in the house.
I have a grown one under the house now and put a live trap out to see if I can catch it. Wild opossums are very smelly and I can smell him when the heat comes on. Yuck! The joy of living in the hills of TN. LOL
