I agree that would appear to be what they are doing, but how does that help them when KR takes them to court? They have already slandered him and damaged his reputation as well as attempted to poison the jury pool.

I think the new operating manager with comments about journalism is starting to make changes. If the new boss has specific expectations you have two choices, embrace them or find a new job. Hopefully there will be some wholesale management house cleaning at CNN to change the cilture.
they never apologize for their lies and hoaxes, they never engage in any inward reflection on what they have done, they just move on to the next lie or hoax. They do this because they know that most people will remember the lie or hoax, but won’t remember that it was actually exposed as being a lie or hoax.
From what I read in a search it appears to me they sold the real estate in Atlanta, not necessarily the network, so I don’t think that has anything to do with them flip flopping. More than likely they are trying to set up a defense for the future court action by Rittenhouse.
This could conceivably help a Rittenhouse lawsuit. They are admitting that they spread lies!

Note the weasel word “necessarily”. These things may not have been on CNN, MSNBC or NBC but they were largely available on the Internet for anyone to have read about and learned. CNN could’ve just checked out Freerepublic and known about most of them in the summer of 2020.
In a just world, aTV show should have to dedicate the same number of minutes to telling the truth and admitting their lies as they did covering the lies. Same with column inches for print publications. Instead they spend hours an hours and hours on the lies and a few minutes on the correction.

CNN immediately tries to mitigate the damage award that is going to be levied vs them when Kyle sues the, for the piece of CNN that Sandman does not own. MSNBC is going to get it the worst when Kyle sues them. Constant black faces there calling him a white supremist.
CNN must NOT be allowed to escape punishment for the lies told. It simply can not happen that they get away with it.
