A businessman who travelled to space with William Shatner last month has died after a small plane crashed in New Jersey.
Glen de Vries, 49, had been aboard Blue Origin's New Shepard spacecraft on 13 October, spending more than 10 minutes in space after launching along with Shatner and others.
He was killed along with another person in the New Jersey crash, state police said.

The plane, a single-engine Cessna 172, went down on Thursday in a wooded area of Hampton Township, in the northern part of the state.
The Federal Aviation Administration alerted public safety agencies to look for the missing plane in the afternoon.
Emergency crews found the wreckage about an hour later.
Blue Origin, the space company founded by Jeff Bezos, said they were "devastated" over the sudden death of Mr de Vries.
"He brought so much life and energy to the entire Blue Origin team and to his fellow crewmates", the company said.
"His passion for aviation, his charitable work, and his dedication to his craft will long be revered and admired."
After the space flight, Mr de Vries had said: "It's going to take me a while to be able to describe it. It was incredible."

Ok, that’s kinda bizarre.
Karl Wallende wannabe.
That’s a pretty harsh undeserved headline in relation to Shatner. I get that they’re trying to identify who he is but it makes look like Shatner had something to do with his death.
Glen de Vries is on the right.
I know, right?
I’ll bet you’re surprised that I know who “Karl Wallenda” is.
How very sad...
Obviously a conspiracy. /s
Wearing red. Bad sign
Wind and rain in the flight area on Thursday. (And maybe icing at altitude?)
*I’ll bet you’re surprised that I know who “Karl Wallenda” is.*
Nope. Like me your sense of humor comes with a smirk.
Red shirt. Who are we kidding.
I saw Karl Wallenda...walked by over my head.
That is tragic. Prayers go out to the family.
Everyone in the picture except for Shatner is wearing RED uniforms -
We all know what THAT means.
Redshirt.
CC
“He’s dead, Jim!”
That picture used to be funny - a gag referencing the poor survival rate of Star Trek extras (lower-ranked people who wore red shirts). Now it is sad.
There is a “Men into Space” episode that might be in the making, here. Astronauts who find orbiting alien ship debris begin to die in mysterious, unrelated deaths.
Also, a similar “Twilight Zone”, although in that one, the people on the mission are slowly “erased”.
