Alec Baldwin "is canceling other projects" following an accidental shooting on the set of his film, Rust, that left cinematographer Halyna Hutchins dead and director Joel Souza injured.
A source tells PEOPLE that Baldwin, 63, is looking "to take some time to himself and re-center himself," as he has during difficult times in the past.
"This was pretty devastating," the source says. "This is how he handles difficult times. Whenever something bad happens, in the short term, he removes himself from [the] public eye."

At a bare minimum, Alec Baldwin made the crew drive over 50 miles one way, every day, to save costs, and the Crew reported being overly fatigued and overworked by the Production crew.
Then supposedly minutes before, the fatigued Crew departed. Did Alec fire in anger?
We are getting the same bad info at this juncture as we did in other cases. We’re hearing what his PR team is broadcasting.

Just wondering if anyone took a blood sample from him for drug and alcohol testing.
Pissed off that the director and/or cinematographer want another take, handed a gun and told it’s “cold,” points at those two saying he’ll shoot them, utters profanities and fires.
That’s the scenario that’s coming out about how it happened.
First thing he did was blame someone else.
“Why did I get handed a hot gun?”
His ego is too big to think it could be his fault. Someone failed HIM.
He’s producer or one of them & the lead actor so you know he’s there every day all day. Union crew members walked off after being concerned about safety.
He’s responsible on two levels, the first as producer and the last as the shooter.
Who could imagine something going wrong?
Fix appears to be in. Can someone explain why Baldwin was not arrested immediately on suspicion of homicide? Everyone who gets caught red-handed with a gun in their hand claims it was an accident. Cops would ordinarily make the arrest and then the legal process sorts it out.
On the awesome side, he’ll never be able to pop off in public again.

He has four projects in production aside from “Rust”, as per IMDB, so he’s not lying about that. Politically, he lies about nearly everything, if not everything.
Is it possible we have seen the last of this Baldwin, forevermore? SNL must send out a new cattle call to fill
the vacant position.
