The Monarch’s lavish living quarters at Buckingham Palace are set to be reduced to little more than “a flat above the shopwhen Prince Charles becomes King.

The plan is part of a radical drive to overhaul the vast Royal estate, which will involve the official London residence being thrown open to the public more than ever before.

Other changes being considered under Charles’ wide-ranging plans include turning Balmoral into a museum to the Queen and moving the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge into Windsor Castle, The Mail on Sunday understands.

Charles is said not to want the Berkshire residence for himself as its position under the Heathrow flight path makes it “too noisy”. […]

The Duke of York is said to be particularly anxious about his home, Park Lodge in Windsor Great Park. However, courtiers say there is no suggestion he will be asked to move. Prince Edward and Princess Anne are also said to be safe in Bagshot Park at Windsor and Gatcombe Park in Gloucestershire respectively. But others — including Andrew’s daughters Beatrice and Eugenie — will be vying for accommodation in the reshuffle. …

“Use every man after his desert, and who should ’scape whipping?”

— Hamlet, Act 2, Scene 2
I have to laugh because when I think of what we ultimately deserve, this quote comes to mind. (And too often, I misremember “whipping” as “hanging”.)

Poor baby. I wonder if Mum found the noise at Buckingham Palace disturbing when she weathered The Blitz there.

I find these articles, if Charles is behind them, unseemly, given the Queen is still alive, and her mother lived past 100 years of age.

From all of the tabloids it seems the Queen prefers William to wear the crown as probably do most Brits

Oh, well. I guess tabloids always know everything and tell the truth.

I’m not a Brit; and what the Queen might prefer is beyond my ken.

But I know that as an American, it’s none of my business.

Well, unless Charles violates sufficient succession rules, that choice is out of her hands.

I saw the Scottish Crown Jewels. The guide pointed out to us that while they aren’t as valuable as the British versions, they took better care of theirs.

Prince Charles is hardly that.

he is a British Marxist preparing his short reighn of virtue signalling in ruination of the Royal family and its mandate of Heaven.

Now Charles will virtue signal by proletarianizing Buckingham Palace.

I do believe Queen Elizabeth II has a few tricks up her sleeve. Prince Charles may find himself having a boating accident.

The royal succession is controlled by statute, making the matter of succession one of life and death. It has nothing to do with Cleopatra, but its to do with when one is born to a monarch, regardless of character , capacity or body politic.

Charles would indeed ruin the monarchy. The knives come out. But then he does have a bad heart.
