Seems kind of strange to me that full time Doctors and Nurses would bother to enlist in the National Guard.

They're not "enlisting"; they're commissioned officers. Many of these doctors and nurses received federal assistance for medical school in exchange for military service. They serve on active duty for a few years as a medical professional and then start a full-time medical profession as a civilian while transitioning to part-time military careers in the Guard or Reserves where they serve for one weekend a month and two weeks a year. If they can reach twenty years they are eligible for a pension.

Not if they’re on title 10 orders.

And we’re talking National Guard here. The doctors and nurses in the National Guard already work full time somewhere in their regular jobs, so they would likely be pulling them away from where they usually work. Which means that they would be pulled away from other patients who need them.

There is a lot of new ground being covered here, the obvious one being whether an "emergency" resulting in the activation of the Guard can be something arbitrarily created by a governor or if it is limited to civil unrest, natural disasters, and declarations of war.

Interesting how some groups are exempt and some not; politicizing the scamdemic.

You know where most Guard nurses work…right?
Civilian hospitals

I think they will try to claim that it’s a type of natural disaster. In reality, it’s a disaster of the government’s own making.

If the Guard is called to do this, do they get their civilian pay, or Guard pay? Which is lower?

If the answer is the latter, I can see why health systems would love the idea of calling in the Guard. The systems will save a lot of money.

The National Guard is becoming the Leftists own private army.
Whenever politicians really F things up, they send in the NG to clean up their mess. Except, when they want the mess they created, like at the Southern Border, the National Guard, who’s job is to GUARD THE NATION are never deployed.

It's certainly an interesting legal matter. (Can the government stipulate a new condition of employment and then use members of the military to replace employees that will not comply with it?)

President Reagan fired striking air traffic controllers and replaced them with military controllers but nobody disputes that the controllers had acted against the "no strike" provision in their terms of employment. The legality of the shot requirement has yet to be held up to scrutiny; what happens if it's deemed unconstitutional?

Their Guard pay; that's who they're working for. (Depending on one's profession as well as their rank and time of service, one can certainly make more money with the National Guard.)

Thanks! People who are healthcare workers, say docs and nurses, will likely lose money, though, won’t they? Their Guard salaries can’t possibly match what they get in the private sector.

I don't think there is one correct answer. I think it's a safe bet that a plastic surgeon who lives in NYC will not make that kind of money in the Guard. But I think a doctor or nurse in a rural area who has a decent rank in the Guard could easily make more money. (It isn't simply the salary; there are allowances often granted during unexpected periods of activation that, combined with a decent salary, make it palatable.)

So, untrained military will replace trained medical staff?

**************************************

This makes zero sense to me. The National Guard is a reserve force. Almost all of them have full time jobs elsewhere.
So, If they are trained medical staff, I’m pretty sure they are already working in a full time medical job. How is this going to help a shortage?

Interesting post—so basically the government can order companies to violate the Nuremberg codes on vaccinations and provide those companies protection from litigation.

The government plus the large corporations will have to be put on trial for violating the Nuremberg codes.

“Just following orders” was not an acceptable defense then—it will not be an acceptable defense now.

“Already working in the jobs”

Excellent point. Although a fraction may be called up to fill housekeeper and food services jobs - which won’t go over well. The main problem of lack of clinical care still exists!

I was thinking of medical corps but you are right, all the other functions will be repulsive and they should not even be required to do them.

How many ways can it be said this is a clulster fluck?
