Thanks! People who are healthcare workers, say docs and nurses, will likely lose money, though, won’t they? Their Guard salaries can’t possibly match what they get in the private sector.
I don't think there is one correct answer. I think it's a safe bet that a plastic surgeon who lives in NYC will not make that kind of money in the Guard. But I think a doctor or nurse in a rural area who has a decent rank in the Guard could easily make more money. (It isn't simply the salary; there are allowances often granted during unexpected periods of activation that, combined with a decent salary, make it palatable.)
