According to him Ashli was the leader of a deadly mob and when the officer shot her the threatening crowd was stymied. His article states the shooting took place when this was occurring: when police were being savagely beaten elsewhere in the building.
Most of here are probably to young to remember when the LA Times was considered somewhat of a Conservative newspaper. How far if has fallen.
Well, they finally come up with a spin. What took so long. If this was true, it would have been headlines Day 1!
For the Times reporter to be considered ‘serious’, you have to go and explain the story that plastic water bottles, backpacks, and flagpoles are all serious weapons in the eyes of the Capital Police.
Ashli taunts the gunman. Awaits for the gunman to get into position. Then when signaled by two actors, Ashli is assisted enters the gunman’s line of fire through the window frame.
Who does that? Do trained AF vets do that?
I am sure there is video.
It’s probably been scrubbed.
Why didn’t he shoot her in the leg or better still why didn’t he fire a warning shot?
That’s what leftists ask in other cases.
.
Ludicrous.
How could murdering one person randomly out of a large number have somehow made any difference?
If shooting her was necessary then shooting dozens or even hundreds would have been necessary.
This argument is specious and does nor reflect any factual details.
Yet the corrupt Capitol Police refuse to release the 14,000 hours of video tape which could exonerate the murdering cop and prove his innocence plus prove the guilt or innocence of all the political prisoners in DC Gitmo.
I call BS.
She made no threats or broke anything. She had no weapons or anything else in her hand. She was just picked out to be shot.
So when can we expect Mr. Goldberg to argue that Kyle Rittenhouse was justified and is therefore innocent?
Remember that next time a mob threatens.
Apparently, you’re allowed one free kill…
Attempting to breach a plainly locked door in the Capitol, with no justification for being there amid a mob, will not end well.
Were the party labels reversed, I expect there would be much support here for perforating an Antifa attempting to breach a plainly locked door in the Capitol with no justification for being there amid a mob.
It’s not a political matter, it’s just an obvious security matter. Sure I’ll get berated for this post, but point remains: play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
Here I go again, having to question the dosage of my blood pressure medicine. This kind of trash article is not good for my health.
Show us your evidence that confirms this statement Nick Goldberg.
One would have thought that the cop would have fired a shot when the Antifa perps were smashing the windows of the doors with various items. He only shoots when an unarmed woman, who isn’t breaking anything, climbs up to look through the broken window.
Using Mr. Goldberg’s “justification” for the shooting of Ashli Babbitt would he have felt the same if last summer police from NYC to LA and dozens of other cities fired on the “peaceful” mobs of BLM and Antifa thugs who were burning and looting? Somehow I doubt it. It shows you how far the left has the stretch the truth to justify their warped thinking.
Was there not 3 or 4 Capitol officers that committed suicide? Any possible connection?
Thankfully, there is no statute of limitations for murder. One day perhaps we’ll have a legitimate AG and the DOJ will bring the house down on this despicable murderer.
Over the last 2 years we’ve all seen bodycam footage of justifiable police uses of deadly force where:
1) the officer’s name was immediately released.
2) said officer was automatically suspended from work pending investigation.
3) despite video proof the officer, his family and fellow officers were harassed legally, and physically threatened by interested parties for the victim and sometimes the local DA.
There is no justice.
#*&% Communists
She had no weapons. It was a murder.
