Actress Markie Post, known for her roles in "Night Court" and "The Fall Guy" among many others, has died at 70, according to multiple reports.
Post died after a battle with cancer, her manager confirmed to multiple outlets Saturday night.
Post first began appearing in TV roles in 1979, guest starring on shows such as "Cheers," "The Love Boat," and "The A-Team," before landing her role on "The Fall Guy," and, later, as Christine Sullivan on "Night Court."
Other roles included a lead in "Hearts Afire" opposite John Ritter in the 1990s and more recently in "The Kids are Alright."
Post's family said in a statement shared with The Hollywood Reporter, “But for us, our pride is in who she was in addition to acting; a person who made elaborate cakes for friends, sewed curtains for first apartments and showed us how to be kind, loving and forgiving in an often harsh world.”
Post is survived by her husband, actor and writer Michael A. Ross, and the couple's two daughters.
But, unlike Night Court, she wasn’t a very nice person in Chicago PD. That said, RIP.
Looking at the first season main cast (on the IMDB), it is only Laroquette, Richard Moll (Bull), and Karen Austin (Lana Wagner) who are still with us, as Harry Anderson, Selma Diamond, and Paula Kelly have passed away. The second season has only Ellen Foley, Moll, and Laroquette still around as Charles Robinson, Harry, and Selma have since passed.
On the show’s total run now, it is only John Laroquette, Richard Moll, Karen Austin, Ellen Foley, and Marsha Warfield (who replaced Florence Halop who died after the third season after replacing Selma Diamond in 1985) who are still alive.
I liked her female parts.
You’re right. I mixed them up.
I don’t pay attention to “celebrities”, but I remember her unusual first name. Seem to recall a photo, from the Clinton Infestation, of Markie and some other skank jumping on the bed in the Lincoln Bedroom.
I saw her (watching on GSN) on an episode of the $100,000 Pyramid and she wore this lovely, attractive outfit. Felt good to see her like that and to remember that time when TV was that far more fun to watch, lol.
True, but Karla DeVito was in the video and toured.
“True, but Karla DeVito was in the video and toured.”
Absolutely, but she was never on Night Court. :)
IIRC, Karla lip synched her part in the video.
Great show.
Her tv Dad let Dan Fielding stay at her apartment. He tells her during court. She gets this worried look on her face and looks over at Dan. He opens up his briefcase and pulls out a pair of her underwear and grins at her.
Funny show.
She was great as Bunny on Chicago PD.
Her real life Dad was a world renowned physicist.
Oh my. That’s so sad. I really liked her.
It’s a cute knickname for Marjorie.
When I was a kid, I had the hots for her.
Agreed. Sorry to hear of her death, but what kind of person does something like that to a piece of history? Beyond dumb!
I liked her female parts.
I see what you did there and I agree!
Can only imagine what went on there when Obama was in the White House.
Dan Fielding is my hero ...!
